I got bumped today
You can't really tell by the pictures, but there are a lot of scratches and gouges, down to the black undercoat. I was stopped waiting for the car ahead of me to turn, and wham, this VW golf behind me, got hammered, which pushed him in to me.

I knew something was happening behind me, so I started to go ahead quicker than I normally would or should. But, this may have saved me from more damage.
The temperature today was plus 1, so if it would have been alot colder the bumper would have cracked. I have to say I was toally surprised when I got out and looked at the damage. Based on the sound and jolt I thought forsure the bumper would have been caved in.
The poor golf got it pretty bad.

I guess **** happens, but like you said in your post, you hate to drive a car that has been hit.
My damage is minimal, the jolt was worse (says something for the mazda product) but over all just a pain in the butt.

Entire frame bent. Middle console twisted and broke apart, dash ripped apart in approx. the middle, the force of the drivers side doors pushing in bent the roof up, sunroof mechanisms in the roof were destroyed, drivers seat was broken off rails and partially crushed under the side of the car where the Crown Vic rode in over, steering column was ripped out of place and tore up the firewall. Would've cost about 16,500CAD to repair. Car was only worth 23,500 to begin with.

Yep, I'm still here. Almost died though. Broke my pelvis and bruised my brain, had alot of soft tissue damage on my left side as well. They had to drill a burr hole to release the pressure in my brain at the time. Because of that I lost most of the abilities on my left side. Couldn't walk, play guitar, swallow, or breath properly.
And had a tracheotemy [spelling] done as a result of being in coma for the first 3 weeks. So couldn't talk either.
Lots of fun.
EDIT: I think you're talking about newfieP5. I know him. He's cool. Was keeping tabs on my condition.
