i'm getting sick of this crappy paint job

so i took of the bumper guard this week to find a different shade of paint underneath it. then today i decide to start taking of the side moldings only to find this...

yeah, paint that has been covered up for an extended period of time will not fade or age as fast as exposed color. Doesn't look too bad to me.

Wash it up, hit it with a nice slow speed buffer and some GL7 scratch remover...see if that does any good.

not just dirty... its a layer of paint. like somebody taped the moldings up and then sprayed around them. damn this car. how would i go about fixing this?

MInes the same way. BUt the car is in black, so I permenently have a gray outline.
Slow speed buffer and GL7 you say Ill go do that.

did a search for gl7 scratch remover but didn't come up with anything. do you guys mean gs27?

Wash it then clean it with some "mothers" cleaning wax. Then top it off with some zymol and buff very firm by hand.(with microfiber cloth) It will look better than brand new when you're done.

i took the molding off the driver's door and it was fine. smooth as a baby's butt. but when i took the one of the rear door it was the same as the small molding up front. i used mequiars cleaning wax, gold class, gs27 scratch remover and none of it worked. as good as it looks without the side moldings i hate to do it but i think i'm going to put them back on. i can't stand seeing that layer of paint outlining where the side moldings were.

wet sand it then use some Rubbing compound to get rid of scratches and then buff it out, it'll take that extra paint off

polishing compound by hand will fix it if you want them off...just be careful
