hey guys, i have the protege5 wagon, and i'm wondering abou tthat front bumper that is on Jermey's sedan. Aren't the sedan and the wagon, almost the same in the front? So my question is, could i get the front end tha fits the sedan to go on my protege5 to give it a new look? Let me know if hat would work, or if i would have to make any kind of modifications.

Plz e-mail your responses at demonx2000@***.net if you don't mind

Thanks a lot guys!

Ask and you shall get the answers

Jeremy would have the final word, since it is his car after all, but here's what I know:

the Sport 20 front end conversion of Jeremy's car requires a complete swap of the front fenders, headlights, corner lights, front bumper, removal of the stock front bumper rebar (possible safety liability), and I think the hood as well.

it's not just a simple bumper swap, as the Sport 20 headlight is more similar to the 99-00 Protege sedans than the 01+ sedan/wagon.

hope this answers your questions, and maybe Jeremy will pop in to field additional questions

Ok here is the deal on the Sport 20 kit for the P5.

The Sport 20 was actually a wagon in Japan. My kit came off of a wagon. However the front end was more similar to the 99-00 Proteges. With a 99-00 you could get away with just swapping the bumper. However you need to do a complete swap for it to work on a P5. Meaning fenders, headlights, grill, hood and bumper.

I hope this helps you out. If not feel free to ask.

WOW! Alright, in order for me to do that i would have to shell out a nice amount of money. So far that is one of the nicest front ends i've seen for a protege period. Your car is looks great! Does anyone happen to know any other front ends that would work on the protege5, regardless of price for right now. I'm just trying to get a feel of what's out their to make mine unique. Thx guys!

If my opinion counts, I'd say it's a tie for the nicest looking front end with the MP3. The lower sport20 grille kicks major ***, but the MP3 fog light area is more fluid. Now if someone could combine these two features, a great setup could be accomplished.

Heh, I'm not even sure what I'm talking about. What I'm trying to say is it looks better than the sport20's foglight setup. It looks cheap.

I too am confused. How does it look cheap. It uses the same foglights as the MP3. The only thing that is different about the lights is the opening for them. Sport 20 opening is round compared to square for the MP3. Granted I used to have a set of PIAAs in there that looked cheap to me. However I swapped over to the factory fogs. I prefer the Sport 20 lights IMHO and I'm not tryingto be biased just cause it is my car. I just think that it looks cleaner.

Yeah I dont like the flush foglight setup...i just prefer the mp3/mazdaspeed style, but I love the sport20 lower grille.
