Ouch!! This Hurts

Just want to give everyone a heads up on this one.

Just last Friday, we got around 4 inches of snow, in like a couple of hours. Not much I know, but it gets better. So I ask the Wife if I can take her 4-Runner to work, since I drive about 20 miles both ways, and she only has to drive about 3 miles total to take both kids to school. She says no, because I don't have my snow tires on yet. So before I go into work 5:30 am, I'm in the garage changing tires. She still feels uneasy about taking my car, so I head into work now late around 6:00 am. I don't go 2 miles and I come up on a 5 to 6 car pile-up. One was upside down in the middle of the road. The cops told us to turn around because the road was closed. So now, I have to go via the interstate. I get behind a line of 18 wheelers. At first I thought not bad, they are clearing the road really good. Then all of a sudden a large pack of snow and ice, flies off the top of the trailer right in front of me (150 - 200 yards in front of me). It lands right in the middle of my lane, and I was going around 40 mph. It didn't break apart at all when it landed, so I know its hard and packed. I was able to slow down to about 20 mph before I had to drive over it (thought it), since there was on coming traffic coming in the other direction. So here are some pics. of the damage. but first I want you to see what it looked like before, just remember I haven't even lower it yet.

Just a warning to all those with Autoexe lips in the Northeast and Up North. Be Careful !!!!

Ps. NO SCHOOL due to snow. 4-Runner stays in garage all day. What a kick in the head. Ouch again!!

Ouch, that's cold Zombie-man. Reminds me of why I moved to FL. We get snow, but it's the fake Disney kind. They send the maintenance workers out afterward to vaccum it up.

I remember a few months before we moved, heading south on 495 towards RI, about 6 inches of fresh snow on the ground. I'm traveling in the left lane, overtaking a semi who's 2 lanes over on the right. Just as we come around a bend, here come the trailer, drifting left in sloooow motion, luckily there was no contact. Said goodbye to winter for good.

Glad you are ok and the Pro is not too badly damaged.

Look at the bright side, at least you broke something that's somewhat cheaper and much easier to replace. I'd much rather have to replace the lip than the entire bumper and perhaps even fog light and/or lower grill.

It still sucks thought having to spend the extra money .
