Photo Transformation Stories
I know many of our cars have changed a lot over the time we've owned them. Many of us modded, modded some more, grew up, tastes changed, and then we changed the direction of our cars and continued with the modifications.
Let this be a place to show "before and after" photos, but not the typical "here was my car stock, here it is now" photos.. more like before, during, and after photos. Show us the mods you love to hate, show the accident damage and the rebirth, the most modded and the state before trade-in, etc.
Of course my own car has gone through a few of these phases --I'll post them later I'm still hunting for the 'worst of the worst' pics of my car with rims, visible CF hood that didn't fit well, but stock suspension --it's like I've totally purged them from existence!
Thanks goes to KrayzieFox for giving me the idea he linked me to old pics of his car on cardomain, and I remembered that I had a cardomain page as well.
Oh and this is open to all Mazdas, not just 3rd gens (hence I put it in this subforum). I will be posting a couple from my Mazda truck as well I'm organizing them as a timeline and then putting them in a set on flickr so save it for posterity
Try and keep the number of photos down to what you really need to get the point across. The post below this one is a fine example of that. Show the car at it's worst, and then show a pic of how you recovered
Try to keep the photo size 1024-width or smaller. Right now I'm on a 2048x1536 screen and the page is wider than my screen.

I began collecting my timeline photos all in one location, which is here:
When you click the link, in the bottom right corner click "options" and then "always show title and description" so that you know what is going on from pic to pic, the dates, etc. I haven't found a way to embed that in the link yet.
http://flickr.com/photos/clauretano/...08015307/show/
but I'm missing the riciest photos! The ones where I had a CF hood, gunmetal wheels, stock suspension, mazdaspeed mufler, etc :'(
So for now, here is my contribution:
Pre-Accident, At the scene of the accident, repairs, post accident:
Feb 14th 2007, the three year anniversary of first seeing my car at the dealership:
she was in winter mode, so looking stocker than usual.
Feb 20th, 2007 --eerily, this is the official three year anniversary of taking ownership of the car:
March 3rd, 2007
March 15th, 2007 --what the body shop tried to pass off as a decent paint job:
April 29th, 2007 - back in business

i couldnt find it i did show it at its ewwy worst. ill do the first gen tommorow, that will take me a while. it got awful for a minute

With the first gen you can even show what it was when you sold it and what it sadly is now.
Try to keep the number of pics down though. Like I did a just before, during (ok 2 for that but I had to include the dramatic dark photo), repair process, failed repair, final repair photo.
Basically pics of stock Mazdas aren't really needed, we know what they looked like
I really, really need to find the pics of my car when I was going down the wrong path with it.

Maybe someone (hint hint) should start a "beautiful Mazda photos" thread
My photo shoot type photos don't really tell the transformation story, they just go "oh hai, pretty (IMO) car". I just tried to do one photo per state.
oh well they're all on my flickr photo set either way god I'm a slave to that site
