Pic's of the CDN GT(x)

Scott - No, I generally just helped out my mechanic friend when I could and did the research, the wiring, interior, and exterior mods.
Had it sent out for the trans rebuild and to a fabricator for a month to do all the piping work. I almost forgot one last thing I did: financing!
Identity_X - The rear spoiler is the original spoiler that comes on the Canadian Protege GTs. I will post a pic of the rear side soon.

I would love to do this kind of swap, but I think one needs -
1. Another car to drive for x amount of time
2. Patience of a saint
3. A wife with even more patience
4. Deep pockets
5. or, a nice home equity line!

The highway mileage figure of 28.6 mpg was based on my first run up the island and back(94 octane). Granted there was some inner city travel but it was minimal so I think it was a fairly realistic figure. The 22.7 mpg rating(94-91 octane) is based on my average around town driving. I drive reasonably civil most of the time during my commute, but I usually explore the boost at least once a journey. So I think I could easily bring the 22.7 up or down based on how enthusiastic I am about the pedal.
I will look into a touline mix or racing fuel to see what proper octane levels do for performance. As I believe Japan has 100 octane, and the ECU im running was designed for that. That should be interesting!

Normally I run 94 octane, but in some cases I have to run the 91. You can really feel the difference!

Reason I ask is that 91 octane is the highest you see here in California.
