ok. well first of all thank you for all of your comments,
foxy the tint was about 400 that included 6 windows, and the moonroof, shipping and installation. i know that seems high but it what it is-is to different plys, 1 chrome 1black- molded together. so its like gettin 2 tint jobs. dont get me wrong i feel dumb paying that much but, no one else has it,and the reason i got it was im getting black tribal graphics on the sides to match it. so to me its worth it.
yes i am in to shows, so i am going for the crazy different look, if i had just plain black tint with silver spoke wheels and no wing i would like like all the other umpteen silver pros, not there is anything wrong with them i just like to be different.
the wing-- im not crazy bout it either but i wanted a wing, and not one that is on every honda running around town, i think it is a bit big,not to big but pointless indeed(to heavy). looked smaller on the ww car but growing on me somewhat.
i do indeed plan on performance upgrades, like cam, ignition, and the obx header if they ever release it. probably turbo in future, but my car only has 5,000 miles on it, and want to kinda break the engine in and use the warranty for a minute. but besides that im not much on speed, if i was i would have bought something different. im not the guy reving through parking lots, or trying to race people.ive just always wanted something brand spankin new to fix up like no one elses, i have AVS (altered vehicle syndrome).
the wheels, i just love chrome(would have my genitally dipped if i could). nobody around here has nothin like those, trust me i would i get bigger if i could but i got them cheap, i used to have 20's on my truck so to me they are like riding on cheerios. trying to trade somebody for 18 inch gunmetal ones.
i dont have a digital camera, used my fiance's mothers camera but next time im there i will get some interior pics.
should have graphics next week, things to do after that are front tilting hood, air cylinders, 2 tvs in head rest and then engine goody's.as i said earlier partially completed!!!!
thanks for comments tho, will keep you updated.

bman, nice ride and I respect the fact that you don't care to follow the trend of everyone else.
That is what draws people to the shows...to see different cars with individual taste. Of course some people wouldn't care for some of your mods, but to each there own.
If you decide to go with 18" gunmetal rims I think that will set the whole package off.

WOW! I like it... I can't make up my mind about the tints. I've never seen tints done like that. I kinda like them but I definately wouldn't pay $600 for that. Besides that I like everything.
I would like to see engine and interior pics. Welcome to ProtegeClub.com

Yeah, 18s will fit, but it'll be a real bumpy ride. I'v seen pro's with 19s. Of course they were just for show.

foxxy, foxxy A question like that should be in the 'Wheels' section hehe

Seriously, go in there and look at the posts by ARD guy, he has a shop and offers the best prices for this club and knows what will fit and what won't.

Some 18s will fit like poetry, some will rub

why would you stick a wing on your car you arent completely crazy about just because you WANT A WING? I cant understand SETTLING on something like that when it comes to putting something on my car I dont love.

Just an odd mentality

nope, me too. the wing is just way too big, the tint would make me loose my mind if i had to look out of the car through it, and the rims are too 'bling-bling' for my taste. some regular tint, (not tribal cut, or what ever that is) some plain 5 spoke silver wheels, and no rear spoiler and your car would look tight.

[/i] ONLY!
Yeah, that is what I want my car to look like minus the WW kit (mazda OEM parts all the way), wing (maybe the mp3 wing), rims, and tint (black tint is better IMHO). Other than that, its sweet. Post more pics, sir.

hey iibbmm,
why wont you quit slammin me, you said that my car was so ugly you couldnt stand to look at it, why dont you stop pulling up this thread then.
and the reason i got the wing was because it was on a pic of a pro with the kit that i planned on getting at the time, so i had a sense what it was going to look like and i liked it.
the mp3 wing is just that mp3 wing i dont want a wing that 1,500 other people have, like i said i wanted to be different.if we all kept the plain look then the aftermarket industry would not see as much potential and overlook our cars, and think mazda owners would not be a good future intrest( not that i can do this myself but it sure helps at shows)!
sorry if this seems h8ful cause im not, just lay it down man. and i was worried about what sweedenhouse was gonna say!

First, You asked for opinions, and I gave you mine. If you didn't want anything bad said about your car, you should have asked for "any opinions from people that like my car, but anyone who thinks it's butt ugly needs to not respond."

Second, you yourself said you werent too sure you liked your wing, but you wanted a wing so you got it. If you werent completely sure you even liked it, why the hell slap it on your car? That sort of mentality simply doesn't make any sense to me. For refference here is your comment :

"the wing-- im not crazy bout it either but i wanted a wing"

Third, the reason I'm pulling this thread up is to look for responses to my posts.

Your car is riced out, sorry. Rice is an eye of the beholder adjective, and in my eyes your car is something I would point at and laugh on the street.

But opinion shouldn't matter to you, right?

I guess I just like my cars clean, your car is a bit too tacky for my taste.

and honestly if you killed the altezzas, got some non chrome wheels, and ripped off that god awful tint, your car would look good, even with that wing.

Why are you hatin on his car? He says he does shows and besides the whole point is to be different and original.
And I bet you he gets more OOhs and AAAHs, and compliments from his car in one day than you can get from your car in a month.
Whats the point of expressing yourself when expressing yourself is going with the majority or what not original. Why be plain and become the usuall everyday thing? I rather drive down the street and see someone with wild effects on there Protege than a normal, everyday,'my mom has the same car' look. Seeing someone in something out of the ordinary gains interest.

What do you think will get more stares driving down the road?
A regular Protege like the two I just saw down the block or a wild, cleanly modified Protege with mods on it you've never seen before.

Obviously it got your attention. Out of all the other picture threads to have a post, you choose this one. I wonder why. It caught your eye. Whether it was in a good way or bad way, it caught your eyes.

Put your car in the same car shows as his. You tell me who would win more trophies and would be surrounded by car lovers more. I think you already know the answer to this.

I didn't post this to be rude to you. Just sharing my thoughts

HE ASKED FOR OPINIONS. Jesus Christ some of you are dense.

For the record, I get plenty of compliments on my cars, PLENTY. But again, I'm not into cars to get people's attention, I'm into cars for my own enjoyment.

Not to be a narcicist, but take my 951 and his protege to SEMA and see what gets the most oohs, ahhs, and complimentary photography

He wanted to know what I think of his car, and I think it's stupid. All the power to him if he likes it, im sure there are people that think my 951 is dumb, I simply havent come across any as of yet.

*edit * And a Protege with a 50ft pink wing is certainly out of the ordinary, but that doesn't make it cool.
