I suggest you get a GPS jacket with either a built in CF reader, as mine has, or invest in a dual CF jacket, CF gps card, and a nice CF card. I have about 80mb of maps loaded on mine.
Thanks for the comments, btw, I try to keep my car as clean as I can, though It's getting harder. My daughter and girlfriend both spend plenty of time in my car, sometimes without me, and they do not have the same feelings of automotive cleanliness that I obsess over.
Hard to believe it's up to 20,000miles.

ahhh the old ipaq. had to get mine for school. since most of our books come on it. and its an all wireless campus. but i have been looking for something to do with it when im not using it for school.
the 3830 also has a SD slot in it. which i have a 256mb card in. so memory isnt to much of a problem.
I have been looking around for some. I found this one http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/tips/GPS/destinator.htm

The only mainstream pda running a linux build is the sharp zaurus, and though it's received accolade for a large software base, the linux kernel has not shown itself to be a robust pda platform.
I think you are too caught up in the notion of 'linux = cool' when there is still little basis for such a belief.
Keep in mind, by the way, that I do have a linux based system in my bedroom whirring away right now.
Oh look, I'm dereailing my own thread.

Yeah. I've got a Jornada 560 myself which also runs WindowsCE and there aren't things like BSOD's or lockups. It's not the same as Windows on a personal computer. And besides they have XP now and that's stable.
Anyways, nice car.

Anyhow... this thread is now way "off topic" so I'll just return it now to the owner.
