1.5L 2nd Gen. Vs. '98ish 2 door stick Escort
So i'm sittin at a lighet with my buddy, and some of his friends pull up in the Escort zx2, or sport or what ever the 2 door escort is, and they start revvin thier engine. I'm just sittin at the light duin nothing. The light turned green and they took off with a little chirp of the tires, and itook off after thier little chirp, and i had a long chirp And i caught up to them in first, shifted to second and started to pull away, then we came to another red light, we were each behind 2 cars. Light turns green, he takes off cause the car in front of him turned right, so i'm stuck behind a van.. The van turns his left turn signal on and the escort slows down to 20 ish, in a 45, the van gets in the turn lane and I slowly pace my self with the escort, and we bothe took off at the same time. We were both at 20ish like i said, and i floored it in second, as did he, and he was at my rear wheel all through 2nd, went to 3rd and started to slowly pull away, maxed out in third and went to fourth, and started to pull away faster. So next red light i'm sittin at the light and he slammes on his breakes and pulls into a shopping center behind me, I guess he didn't wanna lose again..

What are you running under your hood? Even the 1.8L and 2.0L Protege's shouldn't be able to keep up with the ZX2. As ugly and unrefined as they are, they're lightweight (2,478 lbs) and fairly powerful (2.0L Zetec 130 hp/127 ft-lbs). Of course, a lot of it falls on the driver... either way, good kill!
