Talking 2002 LX Protege vs. 2001 Jetta!! Finally!!

I was coming through a toll on I-87 in New York last night. "Jetta boy" was coming through at the same time, two booths down. He gives me this goofy "wanna go?" look (with his standard-issue Jetta-boy backward baseball cap - HA! there's pods in the woods, I swear to God), and it's on.

I have an auto, I am assuming his was an auto as well, because it wasn't even close. I didn't even have to floor it! By 60MPH, I was at least three car lengths ahead of him. I then backed off, because it was the end of the month(!!). But YAY, I feel somewhat vindicated, especially since I have this thing about people who think that their (2.0L 8V!!) Jettas are fast.

It's the little things in life, folks! Peace.

jettas are nice cars, not fast ones. the 1.8t will tear you up but that car is porky. it's got grip and pretty sharp handling, but it cannot hide the fact that it is a "nice" car not a sporty car.

dates LOVE the heated seats...
