I raced my friends crx si and beat him every time and that was when I was stock and he had exhaust and intake(not that it makes much difference). And even with my other friend behind the wheel who is a good drag racer still could not get me. I got a new update he made that cavalier ecotech do 10.0 in the eighth stock now if that is not a good drag driver I do not know what is. And my friends crx si before he got the b16 swap could not even bark second! But needless to say now I can not beat him with that engine. But I have not raced him since I got my header we will have to see.

Last time I checked, the new Civic Si runs mid 15's. What are the Protege5's running? I'm assuming mid 16's
http://www.ssmoparmuscle.com/speedcomp.htm

Also, Car-stats.com has the 2003 Si running 15.7 But I've personally seen stock ones run faster than that
They also have the P5 running 16.8 @ 83mph

the stats you listed are more than likely accurate with a professional driver.

However I know for a fact that my stock P5 ran a 16.4s quarter and has beaten MANY 02+Si's in the 1/8th.

It's a lot about the driver also. a 160hp SI should be able to outrun the 130hp protege.....but it doesn't always work out that way.

Yeah, I know it doesn't always happen the way it's supposed to. LOL anything is possible. It all comes down to the driver. But why only race 1/8th of a mile. Why not the entire quarter?

because thats as long as the track I race at is ......if I ran 1/4 I'd be in the middle of a field and eventually trees.

There are 4 tracks near me but 3 of them are 1/8th....every now and then I get a 1/4 run but it's rare.

Last night after my schools basketball game with the rival school, me nad my friend pulled up next to some cocky little preps in their new civic si what with their hats turned backwards and what not. My car is an auto, and i destroyed the civic horribly. It was kinda rainy so we both spun the tires bad but as soon as the tires grabbed i got about 1 to 2 car lengths on him and it just got worse the faster we got. I slowed at like 80 tho cause it was getting stupid at that point.

Trust me, Honda's are FAR from overpriced. With the exception of the S2000 and NSX, Hondas are equally priced (if not cheaper) than their competitors whether it's a base model or top of the line model.

Where did you get that info at. I know for a fact that the same trim level 03 hond civic (I bought the 03 lx pro) was 3k more and less hp slower and handled like crap compared to the protege. I picked up my car new with 5 miles on it for 11k.

I haven't raced anything yet except a P5 and an MP3 and I got the jump and stayed that way. But it was a very short run. I get my car back today with the new clutch and flywheel, and will put the header on this weekend if it don't rain. I would like to see what it will do.

p.s. make sure to start your comparison with the Civic Si since it's the only civic with 160hp where-as any 3S will have 160hp (sedan or hatch). Also, can you show me the Navigation option or HID option for the civic? 17" wheels standard?

Well, in my opinion, Compare Honda to other top selling car manufacturers (Toyota, Mitsubishi, nissan, Mazda.) Honda's prices are pretty fair. And I'll be the first to admit, they are very reliable.
Now I personally don't think you can compare the Mazda3 with the Civic. I'm not sure though, but the Mazda3 just looks bigger. Of course there's no comparison with power. But the price difference isn't that far off

They're good cars for sure, if I had know that the after market was so weak for the proteges I would have went honda. But I like my car, there is just enough out there for it for me to stay busy with it untill I get it paid for and can buy something ells. I don't know what I want first 4X4 and boat, or vett!

lol, why not compare a Base Civic DX to a Mazda 3i sedan....Dollar for dollar I believe the Civic is more expensive and has less HP
