Dodge Neon

I've taken a 98 Dodge Neon, and a 88 Honda Accord. Got a ticket racing the Neon. County sheriff was in the oncoming traffic when we blew by him. Caught up to me 2 blocks down. Luckily all I got was a 35 in 25. I was doing about 55 when we blew by him!

The other night I had a Dodge Neon SXT think he was bad ***. I wouldn't race a SRT-4 but I raced that SXT. I guess he thought he stood a chance with his piece of ****. He had an exaust and had it lowered but that didn't help him any. I blow him out of the water in first gear. Just thought I would throw that in there.

You know, I've been trying to get a SRT-4 to race my Maxima ever since they came out. But none of them will race me. Of course I think after a few people saw me taking down 5.0 mustangs, camaros and, nitrous charged Hondas, not to many people race me anymore. Now, if I could only put the handling of my P5, into my maxima.

What model of the Maxima do you have? What year and what package? You can either have 222hp or 250hp? Or if you have the brand new models; you have 265hp. So you must have some modifications on your maxima to beat nitrous charged Hondas and 5.0 Mustangs. There is no way you could beat those cars with just the plain ole V6's that are in the Maxima's. Explain? Not trying to hate, I would be happy to see those Honda's and Chevorlet's go down. Dont hate on Ford though because they own a certain percentage of Mazda. Mazda & Ford help each other build their cars. The Ford Probes have the engine that were put in the late RX-7's & MX6's.

5.0 mustangs are now 9 years old minimum, they had 230hp max for the GT and the highest cobras were only like 250 or so. Add 9 or more years of wear and tear onto that and I think a new maxima could take one.

RX-7..... u can say the name stands for a couple of things

Rotary eXperience
Rotary eXperiment

etc etc

i think the guy that would swap in the kl-ze engine into a 3rd gen rx-7 is the dumbest idiot ever
like comeon, you have a 255hp (280 jspec) twin turbo engine, which easily can push into the mid 350whp range

and ure swapping it for a V6 that just pushes 200hp to the crank... liek what was goign through ure head

EVERY SINGLE RX-7. that means the later models, and all the earlier models... INFACT every single model of car, made by mazda, that had an RX in the name (RX-2,3,4,5,7) had a rotary engine, and thats it, they had no other engine choice...just rotary

but justt o go with the humour

duhhhh the rotary engine is a v6 kl-ze.... duhhhhhhh

EDIT: also a 265 hp maxima i think can beat a nitrous civic.... think about it
alot of civics came with about 120hp right, and even if they went as far as putting a 100shot on it, that will boost them upto about 220hp like yeah, it will be an instant 100hp more, so the civic may pull for a bit, but with a maxima that has 265hp in every gear, i think it will beat the civic eventually

maybe race the civic so many times that he runs outta nitrous hehe, then the maxima will eat it alive

Sorry about that guys, I feel like a fool. I was thinking of something else or I guess the acohol was talking; not me. The probes engines were pretty much mazda engines though. I know I guy who worked for Ford and he gave me that info. Thanks for setting that straight for me.

I have a 90 SE, with the VG30E engine. Est. 185 HP right now. As soon as I get the new clutch in, I'm taking it down to get dynoed. It has great traction though. As long as I don't mash the gas while in first.

I raced my friends 5.0 Mustang when I went home last year. Had a half a car length until I hit around 95. Of course, he couldn't get any traction at the beginning.

As for nitrous charged honda's. LOL, just about every honda civic and prelude out here is nitrous charged. Except my co-worker's. His was the only honda I wouldn't race, cause I know I wouldn't have won. All motor build up, with a H22A Japanese spec engine. I can't remember what else he had done to it. And he went back home to Hawaii in May.

yeah it is a mazda engine, the ford probe is basically the mazda mx-6, they are the same cars, just different chassis.... it is all liek mazda engineered tho

i cant remember but i think there might be something different in the suspensions tho

I have raced a couple of 98' neon rt's with intake header and exhaust. And do not underestimate them they are quick with that config. alone. The only reason that I got as close to the one that I did at the drag strip was because his girlfriend was in it and I had no one in the car. And I think his start was not to hott. But without that that header we can walk all over them all day . Hmmm.... I wonder how I would do against him if I had intake header and exhaust and a tach for that matter! My dx didnt come with sh@!. He said the car really came alive after he put the header on it and I know first hand that it made a dramatic difference! If headers made that kind of a difference on proteges then we would stomp a lot of stuff, but I have never seen a protege with a header on it in person, someone please tell me how does it feel compared to stock.
