Got Spanked

At a light with a caviler, young kid red car, red stickers all over.
Chrome wheels, aftermarket exhaust........
No nods or revs so I wait to see what he's gonna do.
He goes for it, so I nail it but he's already got ½ car on me
It only got worse.... by 3rd gear he a few carlengths ahead.
If I launched off the line it wouldn't have been as bad,
but he still would have smoked me....
Guess I better pick'em better

Why do you guys continue to race with these sluggish cars? I can beat it with my skateboard. Please stop posting these rediculous racing stories. Our cars are the VW bug of the the year. I feel so bad when I read these stories.

I feel so bad because I know a pinto on two cyclinders can beat me. That is why I am selling my car to buy a mazdaspeed protege.

MAN, I feel your pain! My wife has a Z24 cavy, and she can spank me pretty bad off the line. At first with no mods on her car she could beat me by like a car length or 2. But now i recently put lowering springs, Catback exhaust, Cold Air Intake, and NGK plugs on her ride. Now she beats me by like 3 or 4 car lengths! Its freakin ridiculous!! Shes already ordered her headers, and soon enough the AEM pulleys. Ill be ordering the HP Racing Headers in a few months so good luck to me!

can i ask you all something? i'm not dissin on anyone here... but why is it, that all your cars are slow? i have a 1.6l.. the smallest damn engine aside from the second gens. i have no problem pulling on cavaliers(non z24 of course), or civics (non si). i was keeping up with a god damn led sled of a BMW that had intake/exhaust on it three nights ago and i've only got my exhaust on. i'm not sayin i beat the bmw... but he wasnt pulling away from me at close to 90mph, i was only a car length behind him the whole time we were driving. i dunno... i'm not saying my car is very fast or anything, because in reality, it's not. but, it is far from slow, it has 30 less ponies than you 2.0 people. (i beat the stock 2.0l's all the time here even when running only exhaust)

I would like to see a 2.0 stick protege go against the 1.6. cause if that 1.6 beats it thats just sad. Ive never driven the 2.0 but ive driving both my brother and sisters 1.6 proteges and i had to downshift into 1st just to get the thing up a steep hill. It seems the 1.6 has a good 1st gear comes close to my car but 2nd and up is just nothing. i think a turbo would be great for the car ...Jon 93 lx/gtr

Well see.. 1.6L are actually some pretty strong engines. I got my butt handed to me by anything but neons and civics when i drove my 99 1.8L. A freaking 00 1.65L pro even kicked my butt! So it all depends on what the car is that ur up against. I haven't driven the 2.0L but even my 1.8L beat out an auto P5. That's how i know that they only run an 18.1 fully stock no matter what the autos on this board say. SO i'm thinking the stick 2.0's run about a 17.5 or so.

Naw man don't sell your P5 for a MSP if you just want some more straight line speed. Get a BEGi turbo kit for even less, you will be impressed
