Loaded 02.5 vs Late Model S70
So here is my story. I have a 02.5 Pro5 with Manual and leather and premium wheels. I never race but I just installed a K&N filter the other day and today on my lunch break I ran down the street to the deli. On my way back at the light there was cute young black guy in this Silver Volvo S70....He was eyeing me(dont know if it was of the rainbow sticker on the back or if he just liked my car) but he obviously wanted to give it a go...So I prepared not knowing what I was up against. The light went green and I let out of the clutch reving to about 6K rpm I had him but when i shifted into 2nd he flew by me....I was like holy ****....I had him and I don't know if it was my poor shifting (since i dont race much) or what but I caught up and then i had to turn....But wow.....what a thrill. Too bad my pro lossed. But whoooo...that boy was very cute......So i dont feel so bad...
Does anyone have any tips on making my car faster without voiding warranty? It only has 12K on it so I have a way to go...or was that competition just faster than my car?
Here are the specs on the 1998 S70 Turbo:
Automatic
HP 236
Guess just answered my question..He has more than 100 hp...My advantage was the tranny...and the styling...lol
Thanks for listening...

Anywho, there isn't much, but the best way to go without voiding warrant is intake, headers, exhaust, and cams. The simple stuff. NO2 is okay as long as you don't blow your engine. Not really much you can do w/out voiding warranty, unless you wanna strip your car for less wieght...lol

Hey Redrims, I was looking at your page on cardomain and saw you have your Protege on the dyno, what did you get for hp rating with your mods? Thanks. I looked throught your sig too and did not see it and I did not see anything posted on your site.

I get a whopping 77hp to the wheels. This was dynoed with just a cat-back.
"Biknman" dynoed at 84hp with intake and exhaust.
I was to ashamed to post the numbers lol, but if I break 140hp, then I show a before and after at put both slips up there.
I can't wait to start doing real work on this engine this summer. Whether it be a swap or something...lol
And for those 1.6l out there. I MAY be the brave one and swap the head from the JDM 1.5l w/SVT. Just watch out for it during the summer.

Simple installation/removal
But remember the Volvo was a 5cyl. turbo. So don't feel too bad. You real competitors are the Mazdaspeed protege, Dodge Neon SRT. and the Mitsubishi Evo.

Yea I have made the mistake and raced one in my MX-6, beat the **** out of it off the line and through second, then after that peace, the Volvo went flyin past. Wasnt too good of a feelin to have a good lead then lose it all.
Redrims, I must say that you car looks awesome, I love the wing on the car, think it compliments your car perfectly. Very nice work so far.

Just add a boost controller and you're set.
