Mid-Rearranged a Protege Turbo

I drive a 93' MR2 Turbo with a 3" Exhaust DP out, MBC, intake, and
everything else stock. 123 k miles, street use @ 12 psi.

I was driving home from dropping my girl off at home and I saw a
some ebay-HID bulbs in my rear view sneaking up on me. Guy kept tailing
me and slowing when I did since I decided to let him pass. Figured
he was ricin' for a race.

We caught a light as he pulled to the left lane. A black mazda protege
that had the distinct sound of an HKS SSQ. A few indiglo gauges
hung from an A-Pillar.

He revved, I returned. Light goes green and I slip it at 5500 rpm on the
good old stock clutch (89 k miles). My winter all-season falkens rip it
up for about 2 seconds hook and leave the spinning mess of the
protege squealing away at the starting line. I took it way past the
quartermile and let off to let him catch up... Well he just took a
right turn, down a road I know is a dead end. I figured it would
be amusing to wait and watch him turn out and come back...I shut
her down on the side of the road lights off.

Well he did and so for chasing me down he got hunted down just so
I could pull up to his window and give the thumbs down.

*I run 12 psi in the winter cool air, 15 in summer

Seems as if traction was the main enemy..

13 and a half ain't much to brag about when you're in a Mid engined, RWD, turbocharged car.

13.8 in a FWD 4 door econo car with no LSD:

stock fuel system, turbo, intercooler, street tires, and 93 pump gas
13.5 @ 105 is a good time considering I have 800$ in mods on my
car. stock mr2 quater mile is a 14.5 @ 98

our stock turbo is very small, and does not hold boost to redline.

Talking mmhh??

Well??

It seems this is a Protege forum oriented. U E kinda posting in the wrong forum. Is like me going to Honda forums and say I smoked a Civic.

Ur story fits better for a MR2 forum, but maybe there is none and it sucks to be U.

WHat is the purpose of posting in a Protege Forum U smoked a Protege?

Try Toyota forums next time, it may seem a good idea and prvent any negative feedback.

MMhh? I think an MR2 is a Toyota.... mmhh catch the message.

Just download watch a 323 running 10 second flat quarter mile and then post an MR2 beating that.

How about that? JAJAJA ... ANd its front wheel drive. WTF?

Sport Compact Car

B4 U keep on bragging about Ur kill. Sport Compact Car has an MR2 w2/ w Camry engine supercharged and only does 13's. Let me know when a luxury bla bla MR2 makes 10 seconds.

Hey, listen, jajajajajja

ok I guess someone needs schooling:
800 hp mr2
http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...hreadid=233773

MR2 with 200k mile on a stock engine block and head with only
bolt ons never opened up or rebuilt
running 11s in the 118-119 trap range. raced in hill climbs
where it has set records.
http://www.jekylhyderacing.com/slips.htm

or check out some mr2s in the 10s here:
http://www.mr2ownersclub.com/quartermile/

Actually currently the 9s are where the targets are.

With a ct20b turbo (jdm toyota turbo) (600$) a fuel pressure regulator and
an intercooler (800$). I'd be in the 12s all day long.

I posted it here because racing stories are banned from the mr2
forum.

Now let's see how a protege engine holds up over 200k miles boosting up
to 23 psi? Oh wait you blew it on 200 miles boosting 10 psi.

So why did you have to say stuff? I never said my mr2 was better faster
or cooler before. I came here because after racing one it peaked
my interest in what the protege was capable of.

Wow what away to look like an ape to newcomers.

oh yeah and the v6 supercharged mutant won the
Sport Compact Challenge beating the supras, evos, skyline, and umm
wait there was no 323 in there....

and it dynoed over 400hp with the shot of gas.

It runs better than 13s but you probably just read the teaser on it.
The guy who built it is on the mr2 forums. I have yet to see a
323 or protege win the SCC. The rx7 hasn't made it yet either.

thanks though for the opportunity to pwn j00

Your approach was off for receiving a Welcome Aboard by saying you smoked a Protege. HELLO?

The MR2 with 800 or 1000 HP has not even touched the track. So, its just a dyno challenge.

I read all the thread from Ur link and still no post of the quarter mile time.

The MR2 can have 3,000 HP, but if that little car cant make it on a 400 meter run, its like ballony.

You tell me, what kind of reply do you want when you make your first posts saying you smoked a Protege. What? UURRAAAAA,

323 do not have to get an engine from another car to make it run. There is a 323 with the BP05 block from factory, not like MR2 where your block is useless and need a Camry swap to make it fast.

Lightbulb Welcome aboard wake up call.

And in your other link....

http://www.mr2ownersclub.com/quartermile/ Its a timeslip, not even a video.

the fastest run is 10.27 seconds, still not faster than a 10.03 323 on the quarter mile. http://members.isp.com/lmercadomail@isp.com/mazda.html

JAJAJA

Hey, by the way, welcome aboard.
