MP5 vs. Cherokee(6CYL)

Not much of a story, pulled up at a red light and the lanes merge a couple hundred feet ahead. This Cherokee had those swirly stickers all over it, plus it was all chromed out with a horrible sounding exhaust. Light turns green and we both go at it. He was with me for about 2-3 seconds and he either gave up or I pulled away. I didn't floor it at the get go since I wasn't 100% sure he was going for it. I have also some what raced a Grand cherokee, don't know if it was a 6 or 8 but I stayed with him until my fiance told me to stop. Oh well, just thought I'd share.

i once saw a Ford Expedition with a spoiler and clear tails. I was laughing while I passed him on the highway.

Oh yeah? Well how's this - this weekend I saw a BUICK CENTURY with a grapefruit shooter exhaust. Sport Compact? Well, you really couldn't buy anything less sporty, and it ain't compact. I would have loved to have spanked his stupid a$$ at the first green light, but I happened upon this monstrosity in a parking lot.

I guess you didn't read the whole thing. Let me refresh your memory.......... it was nothing special just a short race story. I could have made the crap up like some people do. Here let me try it again:

I pulled up to a red light and this pimped out cherokee pulls up along side me. He's inching forward to get a jump on me. Light turns green I gun it and so does he. We are neck and neck up to second gear and that's when I pulled away. H3 g0t 5m0k3d!!

Yeah I pulled up to an early 90s Tarus once. It was red with cheap-*** looking rims, and a dinky spoiler. As he pulled away from me I got to read what I missed before.... S-H-O

****. I used to have a Cherokee with a 4.0 and it was WAY faster than my P5. You could stand on both pedals and just f-in' smoke the tires all day long. Either his car was runnung like ****, he had a 2.8l, or he wasn't trying. Those things are quick up to 60 or so.

It was probably like a 1987 cherokee that was rusted to **** and belched smoke.
Those things have loads of torque which our small NA 4 cylinders DON'T have.
High revving doesn't win drag races.

I'm not too familiar with the body style/years, but there was no rust and no smoke. I know the body style didn't change much over the years so it could have been an old one that the guy took good care of. He just had a ugly tip that made a nasty sound(you know the type that you'd buy at Pep Boys).
