MSP vs. 350Z....

OK so this was a straight up 1/4 mile track race but I was still pleaseed with the results. (I tried to take a pic of the slip but the ink is way to light ...

LEFT LANE 350Z RIGHT LANE MSP

R/T: 1.157 .585 (YEP KILLED HIS *** ON THIS ONE)

60' 2.280 2.341

330 6.191 6.589

1/8 9.433 10.019

1/4 14.542 15.460

MPH 97.58 90.29

Yeah I freakin killed him off the line and it took half the track for him to catch up but in the end the power of the 350z took me down (it sure as hell was not the driver LOL)

Hard pipes, cat back, after market boost gauge, MBC, bigger injectors(if needed), FMIC.

You should smoke his *** then right?
All that can't be more than $1k...if that.

cant add bigger injectors without some way to controll them. Fuel isn't an issue on a stock block MSP.

p.s. FMIC's for the MSP are usually $800-1200.

David, wanna beat him? do this buy a set of 15-16" steel wheels buy a pair of Nitto 555R drag radials, buy the AWR front and rear motor mounts. Launch at 6K rpms. you'll eat him alive.

after about 2-3 good launches the LSD will shatter in about 20 pieces but you'll beat that pesky 350Z for those first few races!

Yeah I have really been thinking about the drag radials (I have two sets of old wheels I can use here) and mounts cause the launch just plain suck I might can launch from 3k with out the terrible wheel hop

555R's are street legal drag radials. IF you'd like you could also look for some BF Goodrich drag radials. They may be a little cheaper.

I can launch from 4k sometimes w/o wheel hop, sometimes w/ wheelhop.. dunno... i just cant get the 1-2 shift down right! 2-3-4 are fine.. just that pesky 1-2 shift... and most of my race would be in 2nd/3rd, i'm in 1st very little, revs too damn FAST! (and its freak'n loud.. which reminds me, will post on the June AL/GA meet thread)

can't finish in first place if you can't finish at all.

This is true.. wish there was an autocross track near where i live, heck, I wish there was anything near where i live... nearest mazda dealership is 45-60 minutes away, and they are crazy. I got a quote to do my 60k stuff.. told them it was an '03 mazdaspeed protege, figured that would be enough.. no... wanted to know what size the motor was, kind of transmission, SOHC or DOHC.. i'm like.. umm.. it's a M-A-Z-D-A-S-P-E-E-D protege.... only come in one kind... 2.0L 16V DOHC Turbo 5-speed... then... he's like oh yah... we get a lot of those in where people keep trashing the tranmission on those.. dumping them in 1st, bending the splines "starting up fast in them" (or something along those lines)... i'm like.. umm.. 10 secs ago, you didnt even know what the car had in it, now you worked on a lot of them... and are telling me I shouldn't drive it like a sports car... nice...
