Playing around with a MSP in my 03 LX
I always wondered how bad I would loose to an MSP. Well Saterday night I found out. And I have to say I wasn't that impressed. Me and 2 other guys (both MSPs) were at a like I was behind them and they take off. We let up at 60 and I stayed right up with them. The next light I pulled up just to see when the MSP would leave me. I got the jump at the light and stayed in front untill about 2500RPMs in 3rd, thats when the spankin started. He pulled me pritty good. I always thought the MSP would have a better 2nd gear. Oh well , well try it again after next week. By then I'll have the new clutch, flywheel, header and new s pipe on. I want to see it that'll help me hold him off alittle longer. Plus I think I just drive better then them, they'er young!

2500 rpm in third? That seems a bit low. That is if you're shifting near redline, you shouldn't even enter the gear at 2500. Plus at that engine speed, the car is still a grand or two from the sweet spot in the power band. I mean, my second gear in my 98 5spd is terribly placed ratio-wise. I think you're right though in that the MSPs are geared better for performance as second is a crucial launch gear. Fun stuff.

I was really just guessing at the RPMs, I was trying to keep an eye out for cars. I was in 3rd for agood 3-4 sec when he started to leave me. It really don't matter though, an *** whoopen is an *** whoopen no matter what gear! LOL

Yea, will try it again. Im getting the flywheel put on today and I'll put on the header this weekend. I'm gona go see how much the high flow hat and mid section will cost and then will try it again to see if I can hold him off alittle longer. If I can't I'll just have to shoot his tires out! LOL

wow, well good for holding on so long man. I dunno what else to say...makes me wonder a few things, like how good a driver you are(meaning you must drive well to hold on so long) and how bad a driver the other guy was...even still...dunno what to say. Good on you though mate...maybe it's time for me to mod...lol.
