A friend of mine has a fairly-modded ZX2. I forget what all he has done to it (actually it's his girlfriend's car). He has an intake, some sort of exhaust (at least a muffler, sounds real good), I think possibly even cam gears, I'll have to ask him for sure.

Anyway, last week when we left from wings, he was in his truck so he couldn't really get away from me. Last night he insisted that they take the ZX2 so they could show me, in his words, "what's up."

We were leaving again, going on the upramp to get on the highway, there was a geo tracker in front of me with Eric and Nicole behind me (Nicole was driving, *insert whip sounds*). I was going about 45 or so in second because I know as soon as I could get in a clear lane, it would be on. Anyway, I jumped out on the left to pass the Geo, and Nicole followed. I winded out the rest of second (not much left), shifted to third, and kept it to the floor. Suprisingly, the ZX2 stayed a constant distance away from me, I was expecting to be pulled in. I was getting to the top of third, and the exit was coming up (I was actually just supposed to stay in the onramp lane, but what fun is that with a Geo in the way?), so I shifted to forth at about 90 and started to slow down. Again, to my suprise, I think I gained a little on the ZX2 before I shut down, but they may have left off before I did.

I didn't get a chance to talk to Eric or Nicole last night, so I don't know if I just got a jump on them or what, but I think they were very suprised that they couldn't catch back up to me. I was hoping they'd follow me home last night, we only live a block away from each other, but they decided to go home instead? hahahha.... My other friend we went with got stuck behind another car, so they weren't in the thick of it, he also lives a block from me so he stopped by and asked what happened.

Go ahead, raise your BS flags. I definately wouldn't say I beat them, I'm just glad they didn't gain anything on me with a bone stock LX. Perhaps they started in third gear instead of second?

 

good kill man, i know what you mean my buddie has a ford contor with a 2.2 zetec, its an auto, but i spank it in races with my 1.6 litre. and we race everywhere. off the jump he gets me, then when we hit second i end up creeping past him. so i believe you.

Well I talked to the guy over the weekend, it was funny. He told me that they didn't have time to catch up to me going up the onramp (which is bull because I was stuck behind the geo the whole way), so I got a jump on them. I'm pretty sure they'd get me from a stop, but we may never know. Chalk one up for the bone stock pro! MUAHAAHAAAAAAA

 

Uh, I've beaten a ZX2... of course it was through town and not your normal race.

 

Well, the point of this story is that the ZX2 was modded, and the guy was saying how quick it was... And he didn't gain **** on me, or rather his girlfriend didn't. That and my protege is bone stock

 

Yea.... Let me tell u, I beat the hell out of my car keeping in front of the guy! I think it's a pretty fair race. Also my Pro is much prettier than a ZX2.

ZX2s look like Uncle Ben's personal driver to me. Sadly it's an American car.
