Protege5 vs 2 TRD Celica GT's

This past weekend alot of my friends decided to go play speed racer on the freeway around midnight.......you know block in a few cars do stupid stuff.....so it was about 9 of us....2 P5's besides me, 2 TRD Celicas, and so on......so me and my friends Celicas line up going down the freeway at about 50mph....we all gun it and the white Celica pulls by a car length due to his 5 speed and im right behind him and the silver Celica is behind me.....we hit about 65-70mph and im right next to the white celica and I just start pullin on him till we get to about 110mph and gets right back next to me....and we're both flyin through and weavin in and out of cars (whew, what a rush!) by this time the silver celica gives up and waits for the others.....now we're at about 125mph and im nearly a car length ahead and my car is redlining like crazy.....luckily he lets go first and I pull out a win!......we do it again a few more times and he wins one of them.
We end up going to the track that Sunday and my friends white celica pulls a 16.0 on his second run! I pull a 17.0 on my first run( whoopy!.....not) and my other friends silver celica gets a 16.7 (he has an auto too).

What's in the Celica that makes it have the TRD designation? I'm not being offensive, I just want to know.

I would not race on the hwy. It's way too dangerous for both me and the innocent people commuting on it.
It's either racetrack, go-kart or GT3 for me.

Umm what kind of transmission do you have redlining at 125?

At 125 I'm at like only 4000 - 4500rpm if my memory serves me correct.

There is no such thing as a TRD Celica, There is the GT & the GT-S.
The is a TRD body kit for the Celica.

First off I was redlining at 125mph cause yes I had the OD off....and also the 2 celicas come with the "Action Package" you know the big *** wing and the body kit from the factory...and it has "TRD Celica-GT" engraved in all the windows.....I could of just put "2 Celica GT's" but it sounded more interesting as you can see! There has to be a reason why they put "TRD" on the car? Is it because of the body kit? I really have no idea why.

once Again. There is NO SUCH THING as A trd Celica.
There is the TRD "Action Package " body kit, but that is it.
YOu can order that stupid TRD emblum, or stickers at any dealership.

First off, although not a "Real" car the TRD Packaged Celica is available to purchase through certain dealers. It started its life in 2000 with the release of the new Celica and concept Celicas.

It was only a matter of time before Toyota's Racing and Development (TRD) team got their hands on the new GT-S and waved their magic wand over the Celica's already outstanding package. The TRD package includes a full body kit with front aero bumper/grille, a hood spoiler, rocker panel skirts, adjustable rear wing and a rear valance panel; a performance-tuned suspension with larger sway bars, a strut tower brace lowering springs, specially valved struts and 17-inch wheels and tires. A high-flow stainless steel muffler boosts horsepower by 14 ponies. As with all TRD components, the parts carry a three-year or 36,000-mile warranty.
Here is a picture of the Celica GT-S with a TRD Package Installed. I have seen one in person and witnessed it out on track at Buttonwillow raceway. It's mainly a lot of body panels and a few bolt ons. But it's all warrantied and in house developed.

Now if you want a BAD *** Celica with a smear of TRD all over it check out this monster. 500 bhp @ 8000 rpm Muahahah!

I doubt your friends were driving either of these. Once again the "Action Package" is not a TRD celica.
