racing the hondas...
Hey guys I just wanted to share some of the races I've been in. I got my '93 LX 5-speed in September and sold my '93 DX... big difference between the two. I'll briefly explain each of the cars I've raced... keep in mind I've kept this car completely stock:
-mid 90s Honda Accord w/ auto tranny, chrome rims, one passenger, at a stoplight... easily pulled away from him. 1st win
-'90 Acura Integra LS w/ 5-speed, air intake & loud muffler, one passenger, 25mph roll... I slowly pulled away from him throughout the race. 2nd win
-'90 Honda Accord LX-i w/ auto tranny, stock, we both had one passenger, 35mph roll... left him WAY behind. 3rd win
-'97 Saturn SL2 w/ auto tranny, stock, no passengers, at a stoplight... had no problem beating her . 4th win
-'97 Saturn coupe w/ 5-speed, stock, no passengers, on a side street racing a short distance- about the length of 3 street lights... he beats me by a whole car length, those things are pretty quick. 1st loss
-'93-'95 Honda Civic EX w/ 5-speed,air intake & exhaust, some external mods, one female passenger, at stoplight... left him behind slowly. 5th win
-'86 Honda CRX w/ 5-speed, 17" rims, '87 CRX Si engine, air intake, lowered, he had one passenger and I had two, at stoplight... he got a big jump on me at the line because I spun my tires all the way through 1st gear but then easily caught up to him and blew by him. 6th win
-mid '90s Chevrolet Cavalier w/ 5-speed, no muffler, he had two passengers I had one, at stoplight... I didn't shift that good but still beat him bad. He claimed he had a bad clutch... too bad. 7th win
-'97 Ford F-150 w/ auto tranny, 5.7L V8, high-performance computer chip, K&N ait intake, timing kit, one passenger, at stoplight... slowly but surely beat him . 8th win
Well that's about it for now. I know this post was lengthy but I got bored, I hope you enjoyed reading. Personally, I was very surprised that these cars are that quick. Oh yeah, one more thing to share, I never really raced him but my friend has a '97 Civic EX with a cold air intake and a full exhaust, among some other small stuff and we are pretty much dead even. Needless to say he was surprised and he said his car sucked. I'm about to get my turbo and everything else tomorrow. When I get it all together and race some more people I'll let you guys know.
Peace

Yeah he was trying, because he wasa friend of mine and he asked me before-hand if I wanted to race. I lined up with him at the light and we both got an even start and I held him off. Thanks for the reply.

yeah i dont have any probs beating the big trucks with these big motors. Its the cars you think arent much that surprise you. like the orignal 4.0s in the rangers. Those things haul ***, like major ***. Although i did have an eclipse and also a rsx try to race me, well obviously they would win if we dragged, but we were on twisties, and well i took the traffic circle at 70 and they thought they could to, well they ended up spinning out in the grass. lol i love it

are you sure that crx had 17's because i own an 87si and i lowered it with eibachs and there is no way 17's would fit on that car. 16's are what i have and they barely fit. Did you know that the first gen crx weighs in under 2000lbs. r u sure you beat this car? zoom-zoom

Yep I'm sure it had 17s and yep I'm sure I beat him bad, with a 250lb. guy and another guy in my car. He is my neighbor. He bought the 17s, with very low profile tires on them, from another friend of mine who sold them to him to get some Si rims. His CRX isn't the only one I've seen with 17 inch rims. Personally, I don't think the rims look right on his car. They look too big. They barely fit on his car, and they have given him some problems. He has no springs on the front and the tire has hit the fender and cracked it a few times. His car isn't that fast. Granted he had a bad clutch when I raced him but now he swapped an Si transmission from the same '87 he got the engine out of... but I still think I can beat him.
