Smoked A Civic Si....
have to fess up, just the other day i was going home with my gf. a blue civic si drove up next to me at the stop light.light turned green, and we were sreechin tires. had about a car and a half lead, as we were going up hill pulled away even more. then he just totally slowed down. mmm... the smell of victory. still surprised that i smoked a si. it might have been the driver in the si , that just dont know how the shift or something. but the point is i smoked him. gotta love the torque ... i sure do... well theres my short sweet story.. tell you more stories when somebody comes up to me and tries too. o yeah forgot to tell you that i smoke a CRX on the freeway ... hahaha freakin hondas... no torque...i once saw this on a license plate frame.

good kill Should have raced em on flat ground to atleast 4th you would be taking a good look at his tail lights unfortuneately..Those things pull in 3rd, up til 3rd they are chew toys But none the less, Victory is victory!

If you wanna **** Si owners off race em to about 65 mph or a little less and shut it down when a few car lengths ahead If you don't shut it down, he will hit Vtec and you will be getting a from him and his passenger heheh

The gearing on the Civic Si's and generally all other Honda/Acura's is 3rd gear starts around 60-65mph in which, 1st and 2nd gear vtec is rather useless, because they wind up too quickly. 3rd gear will take you to around 100mph (3rd is power gear) Staying in Vtec is a must, and is hard to do, but no matter what, getting up to third they aren't the quickest..

True....
Staying in V-tec is not hard to do at all. Staying in the V-tec on a track would be difficult but not in a straight line race. If you shift at red line the car stays in the v-tec. If it dropped below the v-tec at a shift point the engine mounts would probably tear due to the lurching and bogging. Si's still beat us to 60 in about 1 sec. I have raced a few and pulled the first one, but now I think he had some engine trouble or my engine loved the weather. I could barely keep up with the rest of them.

Just watch out for the SI's with a VTEC controller...my good buddie has one on his and its alot easier to stay in the VTEC -when you have that junk pre-set to your favorite RPM spot. His car is fast...but Ill still smoke him...n2o!

Ok I am not going to badmouth you or anything but a true Civic SI with the actual B16 engine would have smoked you even if he was stock, he would have smoked you even if you had your intake and exhuast. Are you sure it was not a wanabee with that lovely SI sticker to cover up his DX sticker. I just got beat by a stock REAL SI because I know the guy and all he had was a B16 transplant and the little exhuast you could plug with a grape. I think the B16 has like what 195 hp at the crank or something like that. But hay look on the Bright side you still beat a CIVIC.

its all good & also true... he probably would have beat mee...but only after third gear, hondas favorite gear...up in the rpm during hes Vtec stage... but frm the begining till that point.. i believe p5s would be ahead... just as long as you know how to shift... its the torque in our engines that get them from the start... si motors only have 110.1 ft lbs of torque with 165 hp... so if you have more torque ... of course you beat them frm the start..thats how i see ... but the point is i beat a si and a CRX heheh on the freeway...how you guys see it !!!

B16's are in every 1990 some civic before 2002 or2001 when the new gen Civic came out. The 99 and 00 Civic Si had 160 hp at the crank. The engine I believe was the B16(A) which is the DOHC version of the EX's B16(B). I might have these backwards, I don't pay a lot of attention to honda. The Euro spec Civic Type R had 195 or something hp, but I heard from some honda locals that it has the same engine as the American Integra Type R which is a B18 series engine.

Torque over hp
It was your torque that beat that Si, nothing less.
Where you have the torque to combat the effects of the hill, he is revving the crap out of the car just to keep up and trying to kill the effects of going up.
I dont think you could have beaten that car if it had been on flat ground and with a better driver. Most drivers of Si's have no clue on how to keep the revs up to stay in the power band. This is probably why I hear so many kills against them.
Nice kill though and nice car too. If thats your car in the sig, very nice man. Lookin phat and all business.
