Stock MSP vs. 2001 Eclipse w/ Mods galore..

My Freind and roomate has a 2001 Eclipse that is his pride and joy in fact he has dumped at least $7000 (eng. and ext.) into it. Him and I are always running each other on the street and track. My car is stock (MSP 2003.5) and his car has these mods done Injen intake, throttle body, Zex wet system, Kamakazi header, Thermal Designs cat. back, Shunk2 coilovers and of course the Bullfrog head. Well we have been to the track sevral times (1/4 and 1/8) the best time he could come up with is a 15.15 on the 1/8 and I am running 15.4 in the 1/8. before he had his new head put on I would beat him so bad and even now he has to run nitrous to keep up LOL.......oh his is the 4cyl not the GT

there is no way you're running a 15.4 in the 1/8!! the quarter....

I installed those exact same mods on my friends 02 eclipse GS and his car on a 60hp shot would SMOKE my msp and I had an upgraded exhaust and intake. His GS was an auto also.

Nitrous will pwn jo0. Instant power and a 60hp wet shot makes about 50whp....the MSP turbo only adds about 40Bhp....so even less Whp.

excuse the mix up on the 1/4 (duh), but seriously something must be wrong his car because his is also a auto/sport shift and is slow (well not really but..). Like I said though he has a ZEX wet system I think he is running the 2nd pill or 50 hp shot and other mods that I tought his would smoke mine but for some reason his does not and I can easily keep up with him....I wonder if there is something wrong with his car ....

I dunno, all I can tell you is what I've done personally. My friends GS with a 60hp DRY zex was .3s faster in the 1/8th. He was WALKING mustang GT's (sn95's). All he had was a Injen, ZEX 60hp DRY, muffler, sport-auto.

Have you ever thought it could be how your buddy drives the car?

i know my MSP was almost impossible to launch effectively...from a roll though they didn't have enough grunt to make up for it. The MSP really only excelled on the Interstate or the auto-x course.

Not saying anything bad about your car just saying that mine was not a hot car (dyno'ed 171whp with exhaust)

Dude, I ran 9's in the 8th with my CRX when it still had a mostly stock 1.6 SOHC... sure you don't mean the quarter?
