Swifter than a Cavalier...

The 4 dr cavalier looked totally stock - but moved like it was boosted (i didn't see an intercooler beneath the grill...). I didn't pretend to take him with straight line speed...

So he is riding my butt as we (me and muh sweetie) approach a serious curve to the right that is banked the wrong way! I pwn this road so i heel/toe downshift and *accelerate* through the turn (I LOVE THIS CAR! ZoomZoom). The Cavalier is embarassingly s*l*o*w through the turn and is way behind me.

i am teh w1nner!

Nice. I love doing that to people who think they are hotshots. There is a round about on a road I take home often from school, and it's perfect to just whip the car into, as if you want to go straight on the road, it's just an S curve...ahhh, so many mustangs who think I am rice....get put in their place. Of course, thats the handling..only the v6 stangs get pwned otherwise. It's good to hear that others are enjoying the Zoom for what it was made for, handling.

A boosted four door Cavalier? Come on...
What's next, an all-motor Yugo?

Then again, I guess it is possible. People spend money on weird things. Me too. Like my old Yamaha that I sunk $2500 and two years of effort into. A Ducati owner at a local bike get together summed it up by saying that it was "nice", but that um, "you have real strange taste in bikes..." after I could give no good reason for my affection with it. Seven years on, and I still have it. Covered, pampered but not ridden in some time. Twenty three years after it was built, I bet it would still waste any Cavalier, boosted or not!

indeed people spend money on wierd things. Like the saturns and neons and sunfires I see around here...alot are rice as hell, but then there is this one car, and it's fast as hell. I don't even know what it is cause he has it so riced out with rediculous stuff...after I laughed at him at the lights...he laughed at me, I knew there was something up...upon him leaving me in a trail of tire smoke and screaming turbo..I realized I had just been owned but a non sleeper sleeper

Laughing gas is the cheapest way to make a crummy car (like the sad Cav) go fast. I like sleepers.... but I think if I were to do it, I would start with something that has a more capable chassis and powertrain.

It's funny that ricers are so prevalent that this can exist!

While dragging is fun, I enjoy putting people in their place more on a twisty road. I learned to drive on two lane roads in N Ky, and I can't tell you the times I had people try to follow me in my RX-7. I always count it a victory when I stay in between the lines, and they have to cross over to keep up!

wow ! You beat a car with a 25 year old chassis design in a corner You didnt need to heel/toe to beat a Crapalier in a corner, you could've left it in fifth...I hate Chevy's but try that against a Cobalt and you may get an unpleasant surprise

IS the Cobalt a rebadged Opel or based on an Opel chasis? Opel's got some cred in the handling dept. don't they? The Cad. Catera's I've seen just seem to have some nimbleness you wouldn't expect in the USDM GMs...and this one dude around here is moding one...It just seems to walk away from most in a straight line (on the street) and flosses n' flys around the corners, too...

no it's an All new chassis, same as the Saturn Ion... I have seen reviews and the Cobalt handles exceptionally well...I believe they said the SS out slalomed the C6 Vette

funny story.....i was walking to my friends house and it was freezing cold out and i hear this car come up behind me so i just turn around to see what it is...and its like...a 93 4 door cavilier...completely stock down to the exhaust.....but as we meet eyes i hear a turbo spool up...heh...i just thought that was cool.....it takes alot of self restraint not to put a huge muffler or any noticeble work to ur car...but make it a true "sleeper"
