93 taurus sho for sale..UPDATE!!! pics and price
posted on the taurus forums also.
hey guys....i know this is my first post and what not....but im considering selling the 93 atx i have in the driveway if theres interest.
silver
around 190k? rebuilt motor a few years ago
new starter about a month ago
new tires in front
has an oil leak that i believe is coming from the oil cooler which has been frying the starter.
problem with the air/heat. like to kick on and off all the time for no apparent reason.
needs a complete brake job. pedal is mushy and goes all the way to the floor. was qouted by a shop at 500 for the brakes. prob save alot doing it yourself for the DIY pros.
think the trans is possibly slipping under heavy load. other than that its fine. maybe just needs new fluid.
has slicer rims in decent shape. would also include the 96-98 sho rims that came with it. not so decent shape. could probably paint them or powdercoat them.
thats about all i can think of right now. we used it as the g/fs daily driver. besides the brakes and oil leak causing the starter to go out. car runs strong and hasnt given us any major problems. figured id post this up before i put it in the garage for the winter. if it doesnt sell might keep as a project.
800 bucks firm. car is located in rockford, il. anyone want to take a look at it in the surrounding area drop me a pm. email is probin94@aol.com. we can set something up. i can try to get pics up but gotta find the digital.
thanks

yeah i might take some pics with the cell when its not covered in snow. the body isnt to bad...the only real rust is on the trunk lid. it has a few minor dings here and there. but with that many miles what car wouldnt. the motor is actually painted already also silver and ford blue....couple years of driving but still looks suprisingly good. i wouldnt mind keeping it as a project but i also got other things in mine(and the g/f wants me to get rid of it...lol). it would def make a good project though. it would look bad as hell with the 96+ rims on it in black with the car white. considered having it painted...got a buddy that can do like pro+++ qaulity paint work....prob get it done really cheap also. hopefully it goes. i know MATTY used to have a SHO wink wink.

I used to have 3 SHO's...they are awesome cars but my last SHO had less miles, was in better shape and I only paid $700 for it. It was also a more desireable 5spd car. I'm not trying to bash on your thread or anything but you're pretty high on the price of that one.
I'd suggest fixing a few of the smaller problems like the oil leak so that isn't a re-occuring problem and it will be a lot easier to sell.
the 3.2L engine in those cars is a BEAST and I've always wanted to build a small twin turbo set-up and throw it in a p5 (in the back)

yeah thats why its obo.....gives me some kind of bargaining. i figure if i cant sell im gonna keep it and work on it in the spring myself get the problems fixed and try again or keep it and mod it. yeah i know the 5sp is better but there was(dont know if they still exist) but they make a fully built auto trans with shift kit for like 2500 bucks...doesnt sound like a bad price to me for what youd get. remember a guy saying he had it in his and he would chirp all the way into third with a mostly stock setup. like i said its obo.

yeah i know....i look at it this way. if im gonna pay to fix it up....might as well keep the damn thing. already got the mod bug in me for it. lookin at new headlights and clear corners. thinking bout callin my buddy about the paint job. new rotors and stainless steel brake lines for the brake job. i guess the 500 dollar qoute the g/f got was for just parts so she said tonight. well for that price im buying decent stuff and ill do the labor. make a weekend of it. who knows matty....maybe ill keep it and ship it of too you and you can build me a twin turbo setup for it . they did have a post up on the shoforums of a guy wanting i think 3000 for a twin turbo'ed SHO motor in a probe first gen.
