Dyno sheets...

Hey,

There are probably a lot of you guys out there that are in the same boat as me... ready to order that next round of parts for your car, but you can't find any hard data on it. All we have to fall back on is another member's guess that it might have gained him 5hp or something like that.

It would be great if there was a section of this forum where links to (or attachments of) before and after dyno data, before and after quarter mile time slips, etc could be posted. That way, club members can make informed decisions regarding which cold air intake to purchase, how much hp (or ET reduction) a certain cam profile will give and at which rpms, which cat back to use, etc.

I'm not in your shoes, but if there are any shop owners, weekend drag racers, and other people out there that can put some hard numbers together... what do you think?

The first dyno is a base map (very conservative tune)

The second dyno is after a "road tune" under real-world driving conditions.

The last graph is a comparison of the previous two graphs.

Pay particular attention to the blue line in the third graph. Notice additional height of the powercurve, now pay attention to how long it holds that increase in power. Area under the curve is what really matters and this is just a small sample of what you can expect with base tuning and even light road-tuning.

Just for giggles go and compare these dyno graphs to ones from stock cars and even ones from other EMS vendors. It's almost comical.

p.s. I'm not an employee of or contracted by ANY vendor. I'm merely an ethusiast who wants the best possible product for my car.

Here's my feeble attempt to expand this dyno result thread. Unorthodox Racing posts dyno results on their website for their underdrive pulleys.

It's a modest improvement, but every little bit helps.

WTH?!?!? Look at the amount of detonation in that graph!! That may be the most horrible dyno I've seen...EVER. Those jagged lines are detonation....not a good thing. What else was done to the test car? It shows a base line of 107whp...thats awefully high when most people are getting 98-100whp.

Yeah.. unfortunately, there are no other details about the test conditions, vehicle set-up, etc available on their website. However, the modest change in hp seems reasonable for the part, even if there is some fluff at lower rpm and the peak values seem out of whack. At least Unorthodox isn't claiming some ridiculous improvement.
Hey, Roddimus, any chance of posting a dyno sheet on that Wagner header? We were discussing it in the Cam GB the other day...

The guy who had the header dyno'd has the dyno chart...it wasn't "wagner property". I'll try to track him down and get him to post it.

The dyno you just posted looks like someone sput on some cam gears and got them WAY out of whack. I have never seen such horrible power delivery. Something is very wrong with that car.
