Tired of e-mail wading---Please help

Is there a way of checking my subscribed threads on my user CP with out getting all those e-mails? I know it's not , but it still is a pain in the to wade through all those e-mails. Thanks

All you have to do is:

Go to your user profile, and turn off "email notification by default". Boom - no more emails.

You can also selectively shut emails off by un-checking the box that reads "email notification" when you post in a thread. Then you will not get emails about that thread.

No matter really - email notification has been off for some time now. I'm hoping it can be truned back on soon - but you can always shut it down for yourself.

I tried this but then there is no way to know if there is a reply to threads I am participating in. I was wondering if there was a way to get a notice on your user CP with out getting an e-mail.

Which is what's happening for most of us right now. Email seems to have been disabled in that fashion. Still shows up on the CP though.

Just click "user profile" at the top of the screen, and you'll get a list of threads you have subscribed to that have new responses.

Not if you have the e-mail function turned off. It's all or nothing.

Don't you want to stop all the emails?

That's how to do it so you get no more notfications.

If there are some you still want, you can uncheck the "email notification" box when you reply. You can also unsubscribe from that thread, following the link the email that gets sent to you.

Doesn't matter right now anyway - all email notification (other that PMs I believe) are off for everyone.

You seem to keep missing my point. I don't want the e-mails, but I do want to keep up on when there is a reply to my subscribed threads by checking my user control panel. If you check "yes" to e-mail notification you get both, if you check "no" you get neither. I was wondering if I could just get the updates at my CP without the e-mails. The answer seems to be "no".

You're right - I was missing your point!

I had no idea that it was both or none. Seems rather silly, actually. The user CP oughtta always auto update, but the emails should be optional.

Strange - I didn't know it worked the way it does.
