Since we seem to have quite a few people coming up from south Florida for CFLAPP and HIN, I figured we could talk about it at the meet.

yeah, we'll talk about it at the meet. i would also like to see more people join/form clubs. we have like 20+ people who are signed up on our website but who never post and never show up. we have people who were regulars but now never show up. honestly, don't know how to keep them interested. we have a few die-hards but that is it. so yeah, we'll talk about it and hopefully we can figure something out together. so far i know people who are coming up: me, vlad(323), rick(redwagon02), joe(foxymazda). a few others are still unsure. rider, give me some more info to unload on them so they'll come

btw, 5 minutes ago talked to my neighbor about the picnic. they have a 97-98 protege and he said they are not into cars. we are trying to "recruit" people and vlad even printed out a nice flyer about the picnic that we are going to distribute at the car show tonite. i think i'll shut up allready

IDeas....hmmm. Well, I am rather new to all this also, this is my first group of any kind. I think one of the main things to keep people interested is to do something at the meets besides just stand around and talk cars and shoot the ****. Granted we have only had two real meets, but after the picnic meet, I hope our meets will be a little more active. Also, Do something fun as a group (picnic/cookout, Tech days, etc) You could even start up a softball team or something. Something other than cars all the time. Also, keep in mind the ages of members and things they like to do. An 18 yr. old member might not want to do the same thing as a 28 yr member, and vice-versa. I know, I am going to see about doing some type of day at the Park (Disney or Universal) as a group for one of our big meets. Or maybe talk to some shop or garage about having some tech time there. Get an installer to come give stereo tips to your group. Group goes to a driving school (that would be fun!). Just keep it Fun!

those are all awesome things but to actually get people to do them is hard. collecting $100 for tshirts took us at least a couple of months. a couple of people won't make it to the picnic and the reasons range from "oh i just bought x and y so i have no money" to "bank is closed so i can't go cause no cash", lame excuses. i was one of the first members of our club a year ago. i would always try to organize everyone to do something. but now i am just like, let somebody else worry about this stuff and organize it. its way too hard.
