Southeast mazda club
Sup guys in southeast.... I have been sitting on this idea for a while. Maybe there are threads about this or maybe not, im too lazy to search for it. Anyways, i was thinking of starting an actual club, not just forum club... The way i have figured it out, we are some knowledgeable guys, we can fix and install most of our own stuff, however there is a problem with money for all of us when we want to buy those expensive things for our cars. Well i think i have figured it out we can have people donate about $35-75 a month (not sure about actual amount, depending on how many people want to do it) to a paypal account under our protege club name, we record all the donators name, and donators must donate that amount (which will be set by people who want to do this) every month. However, people who donate must be uproved or have some sort of modification done to their protege (subject to change and pictures required). Then every month we get together (or just vote about it here on the forum) and decide who's donors car is getting a expensive gift of a modification of their choice (visual, or performance, no audio stuff). The modification will be of the amount of paypal account at the end of that month. From then on we go by the list of donors and that donor of the month can select their modification. I was thinking that their modification will be ordered online, no actual money will be given out, and we will help to install it, except in cases it is a modification we cannot do as a team. I was also thinking that in the case that the modification requires a professional installation, we will adjust the price of the modification and put aside money for installation (receipts must be provided after work is done), unless that person will pay out of their own poket for installation. For the people who donate will have a choice of getting out club name on their windshield ( i know those things only cost $20 with custom name). After we as a team will deem that the donor with the best looking and/or performing car we will put it on a car show, or try to get magazine exposure... What do you guys think?

hmm....in all honesty I don't think thats something I'd be interested in at all. Here's why...
most of us don't have extra income to throw into a collective pot to basically be given away in the off chance that they one day collect a payout. If thats the case Isuggest we all chip in $20 and buy GA lottery tickets. We'd stand just as good of a chance of hitting some money.
Another flaw in the plan is the fact that there is no supreme decision maker on who gets the money....there's no set rules for how money is divided up....basically asking people to give away money is pointless since people who can afford to throw away $30-70 a month will probably just save that money up and buy something on their own with it.
I'd be more willing to throw a $20 into a GA lottery pool than anything else. We get 10 or so of us together with $20 a piece and thats 400 $1 tickets....then we just split up the winnings if hell ever freezes over and one of us wins.

The first idea is probally not feasible but would be great if you had more of a guarentee to win. However the 2nd idea is not too bad. About the same number of chances to win. But I'm a sucker for a lottery. I'll throw in a little cash.
