so zoominD, where do you take the P5 for fun, around here? I have found the curves near Big ridge State Park (I think hwy 62?) to be quite inviting... Our first weekend with the ride was spent up on the BRP, which was cool as hell, a little icy just for added edge.
i haven't done Hwy 129 (south of the Smokies) with it yet - been somewhat scared of running over the bikers - Have you tried out that stretch yet? We went hiking last Weekend (w/ the truck), and noticed that Tennessee portion from the lake to NC border has just been re-paved!!! Seems like a good place to take the leash off and let the little zoomer play...

fossil boy, I've only had it a week , so far just around town .When Ben_D asked about a meet I to was thinking of the mountains. Do you think our cars brakes could handle 129? I was thinking around mid-fall would be nice, no a/c for a little extra power out of the turns, motorcycle population will dwindle down plus cool crisp air for our cars to breath and nice scenary. It would be fun to get some local Pro5's together. What do you say Ben_D, would you be up for a road trip up this way? fossil boy, Ihave the classic red P5 , if you see it stop to see if it's me. You have silver right? There is a young guy driving a blue one with a loud exaust, he just revved at me and took off wouldnt stop to talk.

Hi ZoominD.
Yes, I believe the brakes will do just fine - those are mighty big rotors! Besides, in the curves, I generally keep the little beast tached-out in 2nd and 3rd which gives great control for speed change. I try to avoid using the brakes as much as possible.
I agree, Fall would be very nice up there. You will like the new pavement - it seemed very enticing. The other Pro folks would likely have a blast on that road (as the bikers call it: "The Dragon")
You should check out the road to Big ridge state park, though. It has tightly spaced curves and though much shorter than 129, a very fun drive and close to you, in Powell.
Yeah, we have the silver, base model P5. Due to the awful roads in town and the fact that my sig other has to commute to Oak Ridge, she's usually the M-F driver - I get it on the weekends. I still use the GT-S (silver; seen better days but reliable) or via KAT.
Hope to see you around sometime. take care
