I'm in Colorado Springs. Any ideas for a weekend get-together?

Let us know when you're up here in the summer, Protege Menace.

estes is about 2 hours from me. but worth the drive, just because i'd get to take my digital camera with me for some awesome estes park pictures. :] it's about 3 hours from the springs i believe. motorhead, i'm down for a get-together whenever. as long as it's not the weekend of may 5th. Cinco de Mayo combined with Coys Street Machine Showdown at Bandimere. Maybe if you're up for the first import show of the season here, we can meet up at Bandimere.

Not sure if I could make it Cinco de Mayo weekend, but I heard there is one at Bandimere in July sometime. Are there any more Colorado people out there? It sure would be a lot more fun if we had more people.
Protetype, maybe we could meet in Castle Rock some weekend (at the McDonalds or something) and drive to Deckers, Woodland Park, and then into the Springs. I did that in my GTI one time, it was nice. If you have any ideas or good roads you know of, let us know.

There's a few people here from Colorado. StuttersC (Aurora I believe), a guy with a red first gen, who I forget his name on the board. davidanderson60 is in the springs as well. I found a local guy with a white p5 who I'm trying to get on the board, but he doesn't seem too interested. Hopefully, more will show up!

sounds good, Menace.

So, what is our club history? Have we had other meets before? Are we into street racing? I'd like to get to know some of you better before we meet. My email address is ajfree@msn.com. Email me and we can talk more diectly.

I'm 18, and I've had my '02 Protege DX for not very long. IF I street race, it's just the occasional stoplight drag, nothing major. I try not to break the speed limit. Just enough to beat Civics...ha ha ha.
I think a joyride in the mountains would be ideal, just to enjoy the outdoors and our cars. If we got a few Rex's that would be cool.

So, what about the weekend of June 1 or 8? Just trying to get a starting point going...

There have been a few successful meets, mostly at Carlisle, the MAPP meets, and a couple others in Texas I believe.. our Canadian friends have had some good luck too. Hopefully we can get more CO people on here, and see about getting them all together. As for a little about me, since everyone else is sharing... I'm 20, 21 before John gets here, so I can buy myself some beer and drink it in front of you youngins I got my '00 DX last February. I'll do the occasional stop light drag, and I go to the illegal street races every wed. and sun. down here, but only to watch. (i dont endorse it, but it sure is fun watching). The joyride through the mountains would be fun as hell. I'm planning on getting some hardware for my comp so I can hook up the camcorder and get the videos I've taped on here. It'd be awesome to get some cool footage of the pro's and some rex's together cruising around. :]

oh, we'll meet when you're here Menace, just tryin to maybe do something before that too... that's all. I'm suggesting multiple joyride-age here.

How's the racing scene up in Parker or wherever you go, Protetype? Is it like fast and furious, being the documentary/car show movie it was?

Do you all have manuals? Makes it more fun.

racing scene is outside parker, border Arapahoe/Aurora. We meet at Parker and Arapahoe Rd in the theatre parking lot, then head to whereever. It's been pretty weak lately actually, stupid people doing stupid things. On Sunday night, there was a minor accident which got the cops called because this girl wasn't paying attention and merged into another car I guess. We usually see some pretty good races where we go though. There's two cars to watch out for, a red turbo'd integra, and a black rx7 tt. I don't know if you saw my other thread in this section, but there's a show at Bandimere this weekend if you're available. ;] I want to see some CO people form the board there.

hmmm....is that show on Sunday? Give me the times, but I doubt I'll be able to make it. I'll definitely let you know if I do go.

I'm trying to get a guy who just bought I think a '91 4wd 323 on here. He was on the Protegetech board.

sorry...my computer totally crashed. But I'm back. I wasn't able to go to the import show. I've heard that because of the altitude, you are supposed to subtract a second from the 1/4 mile time.

Do you still want to joyride sometime before Menace comes? I think someone who lives by me got a white P5, might have to talk to him. I'm free Memorial Day, and that weekend, as far as I know. Otherwise, the 1st/2nd or the 8th/9th of June would still work.

welcome back. yeah, i'm still down for a joyride. i found a guy who's got a stock es down at the local spot recently. he said he raced some guy with a 1.8 recently who had his ride hooked up, and he'll be joining our local crew soon hopefully. so, maybe we'll have a few more pro owners around here and i can get them to head out to the springs or that area. :] i'm down whenever. i've got weekends off, and i have memorial day off.
