Southern Cal event, 01-01-05!

Hi everyone!

One of the biggest 1-day FREE driving events for MAZDA cars is coming up on January 1! It's the Hangover Run, hosted by the Southern California Miata Club. This run has had up to 133 cars all driving together (we were spread out over 5 miles!) and is on some fun to drive (yet passenger friendly) roads. I'd love to see more Protegés show up! Drop me an e-mail if you might attend or have any questions (RSVP not required; I'm just building a general list for fun)...

Here's the start of who's going to be there (full event info also below; FEEL FREE TO SPREAD THE WORD!):

1. Zack, Miata '94R Sunset Orange Pearl
2. Terry & Janet, Miata '97 Brilliant Black
3. Eric & Wanda, Miata '93? Crystal White
4. Mandy & Quincy, MX-5 '04 Velocity Red
5. Bill, Miata '97STO Twilight Blue
6. Hal & Terry, Miata '97 Montego Blue
7. Klaus, Miata '97STO Twilight Blue
8. Audry, Miata '97 Montego Blue
9. Melissa & Marc, Miata '97 White
10.Mike The Mechanic & "Navigator Levon," Miata '95 Garnet Pearl
11.Kathie, Miata '95M Merlot (or '93 Crystal White? ;-)

ALL-MAZDA HANGOVER RUN 8
DATE: January 01, 2005 (Saturday)
TIME: 12:30 pm Prompt
PLACE: Orange County Health Services
27512 Calle Arroyo
San Juan Capistrano
HOST: Zack Broadbent, racerzack@aol.com
714.686.5398 C
BRING: A couple of dollars for parking at the break in Lake Elsinore.

DESCRIPTION:
The myth and legend has returned for it's eighth episode. This year, the run is again limited to MAZDA VEHICLES ONLY. I'm also having us start much later in the day since last year I really did have a massive hangover from partying the night before (ugh!). Expect to see mostly Miatas and RX cars, but hopefully we'll get more Protegés, Mazda3s, 323s, Mazda6s, etc! The run will start with a casual drive along scenic Ortega Highway, taking a rest in Lake Elsinore. The past few years, our Elsinore rest stop has included a $1 per car facility use fee, and we may again have to pay that or something similar (it could always be more, so be prepared). After the rest stop, we'll hit some awesome roads on the best part of the run, including the run's signature 27% downgrade. The run will end at about 4:30pm in Temecula for an early dinner. This is THE ONLY WAY to start a new year. It has NEVER rained on this run (although it once started 2 minutes after the run ended). Regardless, this run will be a "go" rain or shine.

DIRECTIONS:
Exit Interstate 5 at Ortega Highway (74) and head inland (from the 5 south, turn left). Go 0.2 miles and turn right at the light onto Rancho Viejo. At the dead end/light, turn left onto Calle Arroyo. Go another 0.2 miles and turn right into the Orange County Health Services parking lot; if you reach a stop sign, you went too far. The parking lot may appear small at first, but bear to the right and you'll see it extends a long way behind some small office buildings.

nah....a lot of the people here like to support gatherings by people who make more than 3 posts (2 of which being the same thing) to contribute to the forum.

Good luck with it though.

I was bringing up the point that his only posts on this forum are to recruit people to his events.....

Usually we see this from people who actually contribute something to our forums.

I'm not saying anything is wrong or anyone is at fault. I'm trying to say that people don't really respond well to someone who just shows up, makes one post promoting their event and then leaves...

We had a real big rpoblem with this a few months ago. Seemed every day someone was posting some car show banner and leaving....those kind of people are spammers. I know this is a good mazda guy just from another area.....I guess it came off wrong.
