That's great. . . And everyone can then come to the autocross at El Toro June 23rd (there's also a practice on the 22nd, which is a good way to wear out tires you don't care about). This will probably be the last event held at El Toro, as the site returns to Navy control July 1st. It's only about 80-90 miles from San Diego.

Thanks Wil,
I have already e-mailed hunter at Protegetech. I have also posted on the MP3 forum. I will check out the Protege Tech Yahoo group.
Damn! Was that your car I borrowed? I guess it was. I found it on another site and I was hoping to transform it enough so that the owner wouldn't notice (I shrunk your wheels too)! LOL...
Wait a minute... that's not your car. The wheels are different and the one I used has a spoiler... Did you mean just a first gen?

The California Mazda Protege Meet poster is available for download on the site:
http://www.caliprotegemeet.1hwy.com
I have two posters: one color and one black and white. For file size and compatability purposes, I have saved the posters in PDF format. You will need Adobe's free Acrobat Reader to view, save, and print them. I have provided a link to Acrobat's download site just under the links for the posters.
Print them, make copies of them, and give them out to anyone you want. I will be placing them on the windshields of any Protege I see. I will also take them to the local Mazda dealers. Let's make this meet as successful as possible!
Also, for fun I have created a page with my car on it. On there are the pics of the clear cornering lamps I installed (from Asian market Ford Tierra - a rebadged Protege) which match the headlights absolutely perfectly! Also on there are pics of the new Injen Racing Division Cold Air Intake and the dyno results. Just find the "See my car" links from the main site.
For anyone else who wants to go to the meet, I have created an RSVP form on the site to make it as easy as possible to RSVP.
I hope to see everyone there!

Wil,
I will try to help, but I gave myself a crash course in html last Saturday to build my site.
Here's the form action I used:
<form action="/cgi-bin/cgiemail" method="post">
You need a good form emailer to get the form to work. This cgi e-mailer is supported by my webhost (1hwy.com) so all I have to do is insert the cgi name in the form action script.
Your webhost may have a supported form emailer. If not, there are available remote form emailers out there. Some are free and some charge a small yearly fee. Click on the following link to find a list of remote form emailers:
http://rh-apps.virtualave.net/cat12.html
I hope this helps!

BTW, I used Evrsoft's 1st Page 2000. It's a free HTML editor which I have been really happy with. Of course, I have nothing else to compare it to. I've seen screen shots of Dreamweaver and 1st Page looks similar... just not as fancy.
I found that unless you specify where to send the e-mail to, the form emailers send them to either the webmaster@yoursite.com or to the e-mail address you used to register with your webhost. The script I used is:
<input type="hidden" name="cgiemail_username" value="webmaster@caliprotegemeet.1hwy.com">
This sends the e-mail to my webmaster e-mail account. You can also use it to specify the subject line and the order of the date.

This is actually my first post in this forum... I have a Ruby Red 01 Protege ES that I bought in October 2001, and have enjoyed owning ever since. My fiancee is the one who actually drives the car now, since I have a WRX also, but I still like driving the car and want to make some slight changes to improve power and looks. I'm going to sign up on the website for the meet, this will be my first Protege meet. I've been to a few WRX meets so hopefully there'll be some good comaradarie at the Protege meet as well.
Anybody coming to the meet with aftermarket exhaust??

Welcome to the forum!
RODSCALIP5 is coming to the meet andhe has a Tsudo cat-back exhaust on his Pro5. I'm not sure who else has an aftermarket exhaust on a 3rd Gen. I added you to the attendee list on the CaliProtegeMeet website.
Can't wait to see everyone there!

Thanks for the welcome. Actually, I just went to a local muffler shop (Speedway Muffler), and took a look under the car, and it Mazda seems to have gone the cheap route with the exhaust. Granted there are two cats, and a resonator, but I saw with horror the crush bends Mazda used... The WRX had a smallish 2.25" pipe all the way through, but at least it was all mandrel bent.
So it looks like I may just get an axle back muffler to improve flow slightly, for now at least. I'm thinking Magnaflow to keep the volume around the same as stock. I'm sure gains could be made replacing the whole system from the catback or even after the first cat (which is primarly if I remember correctly), but that'll cost quite a bit, and since I don't drive the car daily, I think just a new rear muffler will provide enough improvement for the cost. In any case, I should have something on by the time of the meet.

The California Mazda Protege Meet has been delayed until Saturday, June 29th.
There are three main benefits for this:

The meet will not be held on Father's Day.
Being held on Saturday (rather than Sunday) will allow more sufficient time to get back to work on Monday.
It will allow more people to come to the meet.
There will also be a small fee of $10 per vehicle. This will cover the expense of the application and permit fees imposed by the California Department of State Parks. Extra money will be used to purchase food and beverages. This fee will be collected at the meet.
The State Beach also requires a $2 entrance fee into the parking lot.
The website has been updated to reflect the recent changes. If you have already submitted an RSVP to the meet, please send me an e-mail stating that you have received the new date!

The California Mazda Protege Meet is tomorrow!
I know there are some California owners lurking around in here that have decided not to come to the meet. Once again, I still have room for 9 more vehicles on my permit... Here's some more information to entice someone...
Kartboy.com has donated several parts to raffle off:
2 x Short Shifter Kits (retail: $100)
5 x Shifter Bushings (retail: $35)<br>
1 x Kartboy ShifterBall Hat
Dozens of Kartboy.com logos and stickers
THANKS KARTBOY!!
We also have Mazda water bottles, Mazda cameras, and gobs of various Mazda stickers to hand out!
There is more than enough burgers (meat and veggie plus all the fixings), hot dogs, chips, potato salad, sodas, and water to shake a stick at!
Anyone?

Woohoo!! I'm excited! I'll be bringin my digicam to take pics and video. I'd be stoked to win a Short shifter, the race car needs one!
I'll probably be up there a bit early to help darryl prep the installation of the rest of my stereo. Look forward to meeting everyone and having a good time!
