Guaging Interest: Wagner Tubular Header GB

This is a feeler thread to see if we could source 5 people who would want a discount on a Wagner Motorsports NA header. This is a "shorty-style" header that will replace your stock manifold and maintain your stock emissions equipment. This is ideal for people who want an increase in power, but need to remain emissions friendly. This header has been dyno tested to create 7hp 10lb/ft at the wheels on a STOCK P5.

The header can be made from either a cast iron or a T-321 Stainless steel. The Stainless Steel (called SS from here on) is the prefered metal of choice for a header, but the cast iron can be had cheaply for those who are on a tight budget.

Price has yet to be finalized for a GB but retail pricing is VERY reasonable at:

SS header - $265+shipping
steel - $185+shipping

I will speak with Andy and see what special pricing can be achieved for this.

I have already ordered my header so I will not be able to get in on this buy so we would need at least 5 buyers total. It doesn't matter if you want SS or steel. 5 buyers will work.

*edit* New link to Wagner's website. He added the header to his products page for a different view of the item. The website is slowly being brought up to speed. Bare with us.

Is this the same as the shorty header that OBX offers?

oh no! This is an actual performance piece!! This is machined in-house by wagner motorsports.

Let me put it this way:

"OBX header" is to "$.99 value burger at mcDonalds" AS "wagner header" is to "Hardee's $6 burger"..

dangit, now I'm hungry.

Ha ha. Makes me hungry too. Im thinking I might want the Hardee's 6.00 burger. But anywho, if I get the cast iron one will it have to wrapped with header wrap?

it never HAS to be wrapped, but it's a good idea if you're concerned about under hood temps. Most people don't like the look of header wrap, but I do. It shows you're serious...you're choosing fuction over form!

But you could also paint the color of the wrap, right? That way it won't stand out like a sore thumb.

This sounds like a good deal and that things nice, but I'm paranoid. Once we have 5 people, do you have any idea how long until they're shipped? After my nightmare with Essential Speed, I'm leery of internet purchases.

Thanks, and if the time frame is relatively short, count me in!

To be honest I can't quote times yet because I haven't cleared it with Andy yet. I was checking to see if there was enough interest from this forum to get special pricing. I feel confident if I come to him wiht 5 buyers ready to go he will make it a priority and turn it out ASAP.

*edit*...FWIW, mine is taking about 9 days....because the SS provider didn't ship his stock so I was pushed back 4 days.

So even if I get the SS, I still should wrap it?

nah, it holds heat in much better. you can if you want, but you'd be fine just leaving it stock.
