Yo, Materials Eng here, McMaster University
P.Eng when I feel like it, my company doesn't recognize it, so no hurry. Maybe for cheap insurance. But P.eng dues offset that.
I am a metallurgist currently, I do failure analysis, fractography etc. I'm the guy your frame/engine cradle/door ends up at after it craps out on you. (Assuming it was made out of steel)
Oh yeah I also have my technologist diploma too, I prefer hands on work to theoretical.
Stocker.

I figure about 3.14 engineers are here! I'm a municipal water guy. But last year a managed the Deerfoot extension project until my accident last year. I am just a lonely E.I.T right now. I work for the old Reid Crowther and Partners. I came from Vancouver to finish school at the U of C. I also have a certificate and diploma too. Wow, I feel like I'm in a interview. How am I doing???

Mechanical Engineer, P.Eng.
U. of Ottawa
Original speciality was composite materials.
Working on tanks, conveyors, and stuff like that now.
Only P.Eng. in my new office now.
I also do some structural and manage a steel fab shop in Edmonton. Lots more paperwork (yuck, double yuck), as I would rather be in the field.
Hey Dion, I did some work with Reid Crowther (forgot the new name) when the company I used to work for built the temporary bleachers for the Grey Cup in Calgary. I was there to inspect the structure. 10,000 extra seats in the North end zone.
By the way, does anyone notice that you get some stupid questions when peopple find out you are an engineer. For example when I tell them I am a mechanical engineer, they ask me if I can fix their car, seesh!! Hey that's what mechanics are for.

I am an electrical engineer. U of C. I am a P.Eng also. I manage the systems group at Mentor Engineering. We manufacture mobile data terminals (you see them in the Checker cabs in Calgary, and our old ones in all AMA trucks, and in Co-op cabs in Edmonton).
