Save 3.5 cents/ litre(sp), press here------->!

What the hell is up with that??? So gas is 3.5 cents off/litre!(sorry) If gas companies wouldn't spend their money on those stupid signs they could post the actual price on their display boards at a cent or two of what the gas WAS at. If they don't want to, why the hell build the board anyway: They don't even display the real price???

In case anyone wants to know I have found the cheapest price (thus far) at the CO-OP on Deerfoot and 130th Ave. It says 69.8 cents/litre(sp) on the board but it shows 66.3 cents/litre(sp) at the pump. Guess what? That's a savings of 3.5 cents/litre(sp)!?!

Oh come gas boys!!!???!!!

I am getting choked, these signs make no cents! (sense)

Very common recently here in Edmonton. Actually started by Safeway when they opened their gas bars then everyone had to compete. Now it is pretty normal. Even the local TV station did a piece on it and what they said about the sign was that if they put the actual price on the board then other station will have to beat THAT price. So everyone just has the regular price up.

The local Superstore gas bars normally have 5 cents per litre off but give you a credit for the store. Hey they even have 8 cents per litre sometimes.

techinically we ARE getting 3.5 c off though.. if you head out of town - basically to a town that doesn't have a safeway gas bar - their price is almost always the same as it is in edmonton, but you don't get the 3.5

personally i think the whole 3.5 thing has lost its steam. used to be not all the stations offered it so yeah it was a deal.. now they just jack the regular price up by 3.5, pretend to give you a discount, and run to the bank laughing..

Unfortunately we are really at the gas stations' mercy. I would rather have some zoom-zoom than some stop-stop . I also normally go to a station which gives some other stuff like AMA rebates on my membership. Mohawk, for sure and Hughes I think do this.
