12K and my tires are going bald

ok tell me if this sounds right, or somthing is wrong, i have less then 12K miles on my car, adn my front tires ahve virtually no tread left on them. I never do burnouts, and i never race, this is jsut street driving, should tires last like 25K at least?

Factory tires are made of cheese.

Carved from blocks of Velveeta I think.

You'll find that general tire wear is NOT covered under your warranty (it SHOULD be!).

OEMs make tires for car makers that are usually similar to the tires you can buy at the tire store, but with a much weaker treadwear rating.

Have you been rotating the tires on a regular basis? Also check your air pressure to make sure that it isn't over/underinflated. Doing both of these will give you more life out of your tires.

although I would think you should have gotten much more....my wifes P-5 has 12K on it now and has LOTS of tread left.....remember the tires are preformance tires and will wear a lot quicker....but not THAT QUICK.

have you been rotating your tires? you know the manual suggests every 3750 miles.....what I do is rotate them at every oil change....just an easy way to remember to do it.

look in your owners manual. There was a Dunlop paper in the folder that talked about the tire warranty. They are covered under Dunlop and have the same warranty that they would have if you bought them at a tire shop as they are the same tires.

Tire rotation, it always sneaks up on you. The sad thing is that after you move the rear to the front & fronts to the rear you'll have little traction in the rear...excessive and unwanted potential oversteer.
