16" Wheels for Winter

I am trying to buy 16" wheels for my 5door S to mount snows on. Being cheap, I would rather ebay a set of used 16" wheels (with or without snows) as it looks like a great way to go - IF, the wheels from other makes and models will fit.

Bolt pattern is easy at 5x114.3
Offset for the Mazda3 is 52.5

I am worried about clearing brake calipers, strut towers, fenders etc.

I am currently looking at wheels from: Protoge5, Acura RSX, Ford Probe ('96ish).

Any thoughts on how to confirm the wheels will fit before I buy???
