205/50 would be less of an increase in size...
You didn't say which tire you want. Check the manufacturers specs on the recommended rim withs for the tire you want. That will say whether it will fit on your stock rims.

yes they will. i learned this the hard way. everyone flamed me for weeks whiel i tried to learn about tires and fitting...
goto: www.falkentire.com then go to catalog and check the specs for the 16's. approved rim widths are 5.5-7.5" you'll be fine.

i'm getting them mounted on friday by my friend. i'm picking the wheels up on wed. and my tires should be here wed or thurs. i don't expect to have problems since i'm not using the smaller width reccomended. trust me, it'll work. enjoy em, i sure as heck am!
