Any suggestions for tire test results?
Hey, folks. I am still mired in trying to decide on a set of tires for my Protege5. Some of you may recall that I intend to bolt on a set of Flik 17" wheels, and do a little autocross next summer. However, I want to get a set of tires that performs as well on the street as they do between the pylons. This includes the occaisional rainy day!
Anyhow, a lot of you have been quite helpful answering my questions about various brands. And, I have the basics down in regards to speed ratings, wear ratings, temperature ratings, etc. But I was wondering if anyone knows of a good website or book/magazine with a detailed comparison test of various brands. Somebody out there had to do back to back testing on the same vehicle, to determine how the tread pattern affects noise, how well the tires grip on the track (when they are warm) and on the street (relatively cool rubber).
Is there any data to suggest why it might be better to buy a set of Falkens over a set of comparably priced Hankook radials? We all have our opinions, but how can we quantify which one is the better tire?
