Question Honda CRV rims fit the P5???

i used to own a 99 Prelude and for my winters i had a set of CRV steel rims (they fit the CRV, Prelude, Accord, TypeR) and i was wondering if anyone knows if they'll fit correctly on my new P5...they have the correct offset (55) and bolt pattern (114.3x5) but i'm not sure about the center bore (i think that's what it's called), the hole in the middle of the rim...can anyone help me out here? it'll save me from having to go shopping for winters this year

TIA

well you know two out of three pieces of the information you need....the offset is fine...the bolt pattern is right...

why don't you just take off one of your P-5's wheels...measure the hole...and then compare it to the hole in the steelies you have.....THAT will tell you if they will work or not. Fore if you don't tell us what the size of the hole is, WE won't know if they could work either.

I want to know if they fit or not. A friend of mine has the same steelies and he said I can have them if they fit. But he's two hours away from me so I don't want to drive all the way to find out. He said the wheels are silver in color and they're the OE wheels for the base CR-V models.

So...please let me know when you find out.

I just spoke with a rep from a local tire store. He said the P5 has a bigger center bore than a Prelude. So if you try to mount the Prelude rims the lug will be carrying the weight instead of the hub...which is dangerous.

You can get a center ring from most rim companies though. This in effect makes the center bore smaller, which will work in your case.

No. What you talked about only works if the rim has a bigger bore than the hub. Our case is the other way around...the P5 hub is too big for the CRV wheel.

Oh my mistake. I though the wheel was to big for the hub.

I just did a quick check with some wheel guide...the P5/ES/MP3 has a 67.1mm hub...one of the biggest size for passenger cars. Almost all Hondas are 64.1mm. However if you have a Protege with rear drum brakes then it's 54.1mm...in which case the CR-V wheel will work with a hub ring.

This site has a pretty comprehensive and up to date fitment chart. It's in PDF format. Click on Application chart.

aw crap .. well i suppose it's the same with any rim then .. if the center bore is too small, it won't fit properly huh?
i was hopin' to get some rsx rims but according to the fastco listing, the rsx center bore is 64.1 mm .. 3 mm too small. rats.
