tire / wheel size ??

What's the largest wheel/tire size we can put on these P5's without changing suspension. What size with say an eibach spring set and struts ?? Has anyone done 17" or 18" ??

Thanks guys !

Try this...

That is info from a dude that has installed tons of wheel/tire combos on proteges.

I have 215/40 R17s (+48mm offset) and I don't rub at all with H&R springs.

Hey now...what kind of 17s' do you have with the +48 offset?? Just wondering, I have only been able to find a couple. Thanks.

I have Tecnomagnesio Indianapolis' in white. I could have gone with a slightly lower offset (-2 or -3mm possibly) to give the car a sligtly wider looking stance, but the wheels were on say at Discount so I just did it. It could be the tires also. I have Bridgestone Potenza S-O3's, and they seem to fit the wheel very nicely. My friend has Parada Spec-2's by yokohoma (same size, 215/40 on a 17 by 7in wheel) and his sidewalls angle slightly out away from the wheel lip (Yoko claims some sort of wheel lip protecting sidewal to protect against curb burn) So in other words I would not have any room to go with a lower offset with those tires. So it is very true what rishie said about tires making a difference in clearance as well.[IMG]

This is a shitty process to see a pic of the wheels, click on that link then on Tecnomagnesio street wheels. tryed to attach the pic but it just caim up as the red x (?).

I also have a Volk 17" x 7.5" wheels with 48mm offset, under Eibachs, and am running 215/40 Toyos. No rubbing here. It looks to me like a 225 would fit as well, but the P5 doesn't need that much tire, so it isn't worth the chance.

Thanks guys, I am really trying to pick the right wheel. I would love to get my factories chromed, I know they go up in the wheelwell for sure. Just seen a lot of P5s' with rear fender damage and I do not want that. Talk to ya later...

ROTA 's "Sub-Zero", has a 17x7.5 with a +48 offset. Rishie's shop installed them on a 215/40 tire and with 2 fat chicks in the back and flying thru the twisties......they DON'T RUB.

Later, Speedbump.

PS. and they look good too!....(the wheels, not the chicks).

We run 19's on our protege and have fitted the same ones on my P5. Be best to run a 19,7 for the P5. 7.5" okay for sedan.
