leakin' tire

leakin' tire
is it possible that the tire could leak from the rim if there's no puncture on the tire itself?
i noticed that my front right tire was loosin pressure so i just went to the tire shop and told the guy to check the pressure but a couple weeks after the same tire was low on pressure again.
so i went to the tire shop again and the guy checked the tire and said it was leakin' from the rim itself. I saw when he was checkin' it and i didn't see it leakin' anywhere. So how true could this be?

very possible. If you have bent rim you could lose pressure....also if the bead that seals the rubber is weakening you could lose pressure but I think you'd lose it FAST...like within minutes.

I had mine checked out about 2 or 3 weeks after i noticed the loss of pressure.
I still have stock rims on the cars and those **** are pretty sturdy! but i guess it could be bent...i dunno

Are these still stock tires? If not, whoever replaced them may have damaged the rim lip - where the bead mates to the rim. Prolly not applicable to you, but that's one of the reasons one should get separate wheels for snow tires. Every time you change a tire, you mico-damage the rim.
you might want to try the soapy water method to see where the leak is.
While you are at it, make sure the tire valve is in snug. Hit any bicycle repair shop and ask them for a valve tightening key - used to be part of all tire caps back when they were steel....

no they're not stock. i had to change my tires a while ago but this never really happened. but then again, i did have to patch the tire because of a leak already and well they had to take out the tire to do that so i supposed they damaged the rim lip. that really sucks though. i have stock rims, took off the hub caps and they're black steel rims. now i'm thinkin' if i get better rims, they'll get damaged like these...
