Question Mounting and Balancing Costs?

does any body know what to expect to pay for mounting and balancing of tires and I dont buy from the place doing the mounting and balancing? Also discounts for 4 tires versus 2?

Yeah, it is around $100. After looking around for a while I found a shop that did it for $80. I doubt you'll be able to find it for much less than that.

Some shops want as much as $50 each wheel! What a bunch of crap. They're just bitter that Tire rack sells tires so cheap and are trying to stop people from using it.

$100?!?! You're kidding right..

Ok.. here's what you do.. get your wife, gf, sister, female friend.. to take your car into the tire store.. and act as flirty, dumb and car useless as she possibly can.. Then mounting/balancing costs about $5 a tire

"So how do you like get the two pieces of the tire together? Oh wow thats so neat!"

lol, I've never heard of mounting/balancing for $100. Failing fraay's suggestion, try Costco. I believe they are around $10 +/- a tire, as are lots of other places.

Of course you have to join Costco first for $40. What a deal

Some independent tire shop here quoted me about $10 too. This was only last year when I bought my snows from tiretrends.com, however since tiretrends was in town anyway, I picked up my tires direct from their warehouse and had them mount for $10 each.
