P5 tires..or lack thier of
Anyone know the best place in Canada to get replacements ?
Make: Dunlop
Model: SP Sport 5000
UTQG: 340-AA-A
Select by size:
Specs SR LR SW Price
P195/50VR16
V 83 BSL
I'm currently looking at
https://www.1010tires.com/selectorti...50&diameter=16
. Anyone have any other suggestions. I'm on my 2nd week of driving on my spare and I am going on a road trip in 3 weeks. Mazda won't help me. They don't carry the tires and Toyota is the Dunlop dealer. WTF?

in case you didn't find this out already....the tires that came/come on our cars have been discontinued by Dunlop....and if you look real close at the tire you will find its not just a SP5000 but a SP5000M. and the dealer will rip you a new butt for one if they even have them. I know this is an expensive option....but have you considered upgrading to a whole new tire? as in getting a whole new set?
Good luck with finding a replacement.....the only places that I have seen that actually had any of our tires wanted $145 US each for them.

The Dunlop 5000 isn't that hard to find. Just look into your local newspaper and call up some tire dealers in your area. Don't buy them from the dealership unless you want to pay more.
What happened to your OE tires? Are you replacing just one or all four of them? If you're doing all four tires then you don't have to stick with the 5000. Try the Dunlop FM901 or Kumho 712 instead...but they're not all season and you'll need a set of snow when winter comes.

I blew out the front passenger side tire on a curb. Apparently these size tires are VERY hard to find. Mazda doesn't stock and they referred me to Toyota(Dunlop dealer). Toyota said they are back ordered. I need a Tire ASAP.

try tirerack.com they had a listing that said that they would have them in stock 7/31/02... might be worth a shot.
to get there go to the main page and put in your car info, then click on "best sellers" when there is a choice to look a tires. It's at the bottom of the list.
Good luck.

JohnNF,
You might want to try your local Crappy Tire since they now stock Dunlop tires. Whether they have the SP Sport 5000 I do not know. But they might give you a Dunlop distributor contact. Also, have you tried looking for 205/45/16 tires? They will do just the same, but with a wider profile.
Regards,
Oz

This kinda is off the topic, sorta, but ive noticed these dunlops wear really quickly, the ones on my p5 are at about 15k miles, but are getting worn quick, and the tires on my SE-R are dunlop sp sport tires, and are bald as hell at 40k miles (i believe they were put on at 28k).
