Question about the fitment recipe

I was just wondering what size tires to go with if i was gettin a 17x7 42mm offset.

205/45 or 205/40 ???

will i rub with the 45 series or will the 40s result in a large gap.

I've done a search and this thread says to use 205/45

http://www.protegeclub.com/forum/sho...ghlight=motegi

but the recipe says to use 205/40...

btw my car is lowered with H&R

Thanks a lot guys!

205 is to skinny
215 gives you a nice contact patch to work with
and rim protection on potholes and curbs

It will depend on the offset of your wheel if you can even run 215. You may have to get 205. But 205 is fine with a drop anyways. See my cars pics for a 205 tire with an Eibach 1.4/1.6 drop.

Oh and that's a 40 sidewall on mine. 45 Would be a higher sidewall again.

im not too sure about the 40s because i dont want a gap ... will 45s rub?

i know i cant go 215 for sure cause 42mm offset is cutting it really close according to the fitment recipe.

but im concerned about the side wall.. will the 40s have a large gap? or will the 45s rub/

since your car is lowered with H&R's, the gap will look fine....you will not have a big gap...seeing as how the 205/40 is only .2 inches smaller in DIAMETER than your stock tires...that is less than 1/8 of an inch to the side....you wouldn't even be able to notice the difference if you had your stock tires on.
