Rims & Tires Question ???
Ok guys I got a question for you ??
I am planning to get 16x7.5 rims for my '91 Protege LX.
Available offsets are +18,+37,+38,+45,+50 ........
which one is the best and what size tires would I need for the rims ?
Would 205/40/R16 fit fine ???
which tires do you think are better...
Falken
Toyo or
Yokohama ????
Thanks in advance,

you'll actually want something inbetween the 38 and 45, like a 42 but one of those 2 are what you want. Probably have to test fit to see which is better. (test fit with the proper sized tire!)
the 38 MIGHT push it out to far and rub the fender, unlikely though (this would look best, as it will be pretty flush with the fender) good for a 1 to 1.5" drop, but the 45 may suck it in too far and rub the strut....(keep in mind if a strut upgrade is in your future, if not already done, they may be a bit bigger) If you plan to slam the car, and the 45 does not rub the strut, then this is your best bet.
the 205/40/16 is a good choice, as it's a hair smaller than the stock size, as where a 205/45/16 will be 2 hairs taller. also a 3 hairs more sidewall....as for tires, look into Kumho's.

Thanks for the helpful info...
The suspention on my car is stock ...
The problem is that I am planning to buy the rims from the internet and because of that there is no way to get them test fitted......
As for the tires, I have heard of Kumho, but have not come across them in the places I look for tires....
any websites that I might be able to get them from for a good price ????
Thanks again for the help and keep the forum running.......
