Slime tire sealant

Slime tire sealant
I've had a tire puncture on my stock dunlops and I fixed it using the beef jerky looking inserts that you push into the puncture. Its held up for a few thousand miles, but now its leaking air at a few psi every couple of days. The leak has had a stable rate of deflation for about 3-4 thousand miles, even with relatively hard driving (no autocrossing).
I've heard that emergency tire repairs such as fix-a-flat can be corrosive to the aluminum alloy wheels... but does anyone know if the simple tire sealants, like "Slime" have any bad effects on the wheels. I'd like to get this leak under control so I dont have to buy a new pair of tires, but am afraid of damaging my wheels.
Thanks

I've heard that shops wont patch tires that have had repair attempts already made on them. I'll have to check if I can get it patched with some local shops.
Anybody know if "Slime" is bad or corrosive on alloys? That way I can get on with my life
