tire sizes
Hello... My 2001 Protege ES did not come with an owner's manual and the labels along the door frame do not contain any tire information... So hopefully you guys can answer this question:
I currently have 195/50/16's on my Protege. I kind of feel that the tires are a little too skinny, which to me, makes the car look a little wussy. Does anyone know just how wide the tires can get on the Protege's without rubbing up against the car when turning, etc.
If you guys can send me the tire sizes possible for the Protege, then I would greatly appreciate it. Also, the size I listed above may or may not be the factory size. I bought the car with a 20,000 miles or so, so I would imagine they are factory.
Thanks for the help!

The place to start is here, if you do a search would return LOTS of info. Tire sizes are talked about a lot on this forum and has its own top domain. Scroll down on the main page for Protege Owners Club > Suspension/Brakes/Wheels Tech and Peformance > Wheel/Tires.
