What winter tires did you get?

I got a set of Pirelli Snowsports 210 195/55 R15 on a set of 15 inch steelies.

Did anyone find winter tires that fit the stock rim?

I got the Michelin Arctic-Alpins for the stock 16" wheels. I wanted to buy 15's with steelies, but I waited too long and they were all out of stock. These work great, though! The stockers are horrible!

I've my 14" Michellin Artic-Alpin from my old Civic :-)
Luckily they fit and save me alot of $$
They're w/ steel rims now though... but who cares when they're most of the time buried in snow

studs

I bought some cheap winter tires and studded 'em. The car can make it through anything now.

I bought Kumho KW-11 I'Zen Studs on 14" steelies. There hasn't been any snow around here yet (or even much ice/frost for that matter), so I can't say how well they perform in winter conditions, but they are very decent on wet pavement, and very quiet for winter tires.

Almost crashed going to lunch today so stopped at the closest tire store near work and got a set of Pirelli Winter 160S on the stock 16s. Size: 205/50 R16, $173CDN each.

Look great and WOW I can stop now! Definitely louder on the highway, but it's worth it. They are stubable, sounds fun but not for the highway.

And I have a good excuse to get new wheels/tires this spring. Woohoo!

Funny thing happened during my first ABS-activated stop. It stopped working 1/2 way into the stop (surprise!) and the light came on. I restarted the car and the light turned off and ABS is operational. No other incidents. I wonder if the slightly taller tire confused the ABS ECU for a second?

Bring on the snow!
